Original review: Came here twice. 1st time was 12 Mar Wed 3pm for lunch. Ordered their chicken waffles and an avocado milkshake. Both were really great. It wasn't crowded when i came and the cafe was spacious and quiet. The aircon was just right, not freezing like in many places. There were only male waiters who served me and they were very attentive and friendly. There was no music at first but they started playing it shortly after I came.
Was so impressed that I came back the very next day (13 Mar) for breakfast at 830 am. I was the only customer and at that time, only 1 female waitress was serving (2 other females came later). Ordered their Yuzu Eggs Bene Salmon and Pink Pineapple (juice). It was very filling and delicious. There was nice music playing when I entered but the cafe aircon was freezing cold this time, with a fan blasting right at me. After some time, I asked the female staff if they could turn the fan off and she did but started acting weirdly towards me, though I was polite the whole time.
This female staff was friendly at the start but became increasingly unfriendly and even rude at the end. I stayed some time at the cafe to read and it remained quiet even though a few tables were filled. It's a pet friendly place with resident cats and customers brought their dog.
When i was leaving, I met the 3 female staff and smiled, wanting to thank them. But their faces were black and unfriendly, looking away and even turning their bodies away from me as if i had the plague. No hint of customer service at all. I was shocked because I had been polite and friendly the whole time. This place has great food but I won't be back with such terrible service. Their aircon and music is inconsistent too. Pls train your staff to have...
Read moreFood: I ordered french toast. I expect french toast to be...you know...just fried bread soaked with eggs. I did not get what I was expected, 'cause twas a way better rendition of "french toast". I can safely say that this one sets a new (good) standard for french toast. That's aside, it's kind a place to get some friends to catch up about life (maybe bring a board game or sumtin) - so their menu caters to this vibe. Can check out their menu posted in the menu tab in the same Google business card about this dining
Service. We went here on sunday morning just after it opened for the day. The vibe is friendly, greeted by a staff as we walked up to the dining floor. Ms Million (I am very sorry if I'm pronouncing your name this incorrectly) was very warm, polite, approachable and acommodative - alongside her colleagues. What I am especially very delighted about is the fact that Ms Million approached us after we ordered our food and clarified that they serve pork in some of their dishes. Very, very considerate and relieve-ful thing to be consulted about - to which I replied as longa s the utensils used are separated then all good.
Atmosphere: Very contemporary chic, industrial-exposed and hipster inspired venue. Seating are plenty, tables are sufficiently large, and - the most important thing that I would like to make a big deal about that I personally LOVE, is that they have pet cat roaming around the dining floor. Haven't assessed her/his friendlies yet though - you can try your luck. It is family friendly venue (not so sure about wheelchair...
Read moreCame here today with my family and it was amazing! We were greeted by the friendly and welcoming staff and got seated right away.
First, came the Buttermilk Toast and Fried Chicken. The portion was quite large, as there were four savoury and well seasoned pieces of boneless chicken karaage. The crispiness and the tenderness of the chicken was perfect with the buttermilk toast that was spread with a tasty garlic compound. The pickled cabbage blended well with the dish, and the maple syrup that was infused with mustard seeds was mind blowing. I never knew that these both flavours could complement each other that well.
The Fortune Noodles however, tasted average. I was expecting something much better after judging from the smell. The piece of red snapper in the Fortune Noodles was seared just right though, not too flaky or firm. The Salmon with truffle mash was next. The salmon was seared to perfection, the flesh inside was tender, flaky, and a rich pinkish-orange hue, still slightly translucent in the center, revealing its freshness. The truffle mash was creamy, and the lemon dill sauce was tangy, aromatic, and smooth. It complemented the fish perfectly.
Finished our perfect meal with the Mandarin Orange Waffles. The orange sauce drizzled on the waffles were citrusy and fresh. The niangao between the waffles gave it more sweetness and a nice sticky texture. The atmosphere was cosy and comfortable, and it was very lively. Come here for an amazing brunch...
