We’ve been introduced to this place by a good friend. First thing first, to order your food in this shop, you have to scan the bar code and get to the digital menu and order it from there.
Overall, the app for you to order your food, is quite good. It allows you to select the ingredients that you want and don’t want.
So I have selected my laksa to go without beansprout.
But when it was served, it was served with beansprout.
Hence we told them again, I cannot eat beansprout. I guess the chef wasn’t happy.
My laksa was taken back to the Kitchen again. Few minutes later, it was served once more.
This time before I dive into it, I took a spoonful of soup. Not to my surprise, what the chef did was just picking out the beansprout from the bowl they previously served me and there were still plenty of beansprout in it.
Hence we send it back to the kitchen to have it take away. We said I cannot take beansprout because i am allergic to lectins. Why is there beansprout in the laksa still?
This time, they apologized and to be fair they offered to make a new one for me.
But I was quite turn off by the smell of the soup that was with beansprout. Hence I have politely decline the offer of making a new one. We just asked them to pack it, so we can take away.
Overall, if they had followed instruction, nothing like this would happened.
But thank you for offering to make a new one.
In the future, please do pay attention to what your customer had ordered on the app & what they have told you.
I understand remaking a new one when we told them the first time, would have meant there is wastage. But compromising on your customer’s request and cause allergic reaction would be worst.
However all these can be avoided by just paying attention and it was non peak time when we were there too, only three occupied tables.
Whatever it is: thank you for offering to make a new one after the second time.
I can imagine the soup being quite tasty without...
Read moreStarting off with what I liked, it was the quiet brunch atmosphere with the air cond. I also liked the aesthetic and I think having a simple menu is the key of every restaurant.
Now to the cons. I ordered the dry noodles which in all honesty, is ok for the price. I would prefer it to be spicier and have more soy sauce, but that's just my taste. I'm a fan of the soup containing vegetables. That's a plus.
Now the half boiled eggs actually made the review go from a 4 to a 3 star. I got them unpeeled for the first time in my life. I had to do the hard work of getting them out of the egg shell. Would have preferred it if they handed me a tissue to lessen the burn on my fingers. And this is coming from someone that worked in hot environments.
I liked the tea. That's how the tea is supposed to be. Will I return? Probably just to try the laksa that everyone in the review section here is...
Read moreReally kopitiam vibe with air-conditioning. This is especially comfortable during this exceptionally hot weather. We ordered cendol to cool down and also their famous laksa. It came within 10 minutes and we were surprised by the amount of ingredients in a small bowl. The taste was nice and flavourful. Add in the sambal for an extra kick. But after finishing the laksa and even the delicious broth, we had to have another bowl of cendol to cool down again....
