3rd April. Time : 0715 Weather: drizzling rain
No drive through service. Drive way was closed. No downloading of stocks to the outlet as usual. Told to walk in instead. 3 customers qued up, waited to place their orders with 3 customers waited for their food at another food pick up counter.
4 system terminals were not switched on. 2 staff at the counter and 2 were in and out of the kitchen. Not sure what they were doing.
When it was my turn, I saw the hand written orders by the counter staff. I suspected that they were unable to produce the receipt. And confirmed the fact with the counter staff that there was no receipt given as their system is down. I walked out immediately.
For one, this is open for abuse by staff with the sales of foods but without any proper receipts. And I don't want to be part of it.
And secondly, while waiting I noted that the staff were not quick on their feet but take their own sweet time. There is clearly a deliberate attempt to go slow to frustrate customers or to drive away customers.
This outlet needs to be audited and review of customer service skills.
4th April, 0712 to 0729 Uploaded the photos that showed the drive way to drive through was blocked. Time: 0716
Went in and took photo of the 4 self-service terminal that were not switched on. No one at the counter and there were 3 customers waited for their food delivery. After some time, the cashier appeared with tray of foods. With the help of another staff, the foods were distributed to the 3 customers. The cashier then went to the counter and took an order from the couple. This was not the same staff who manned the counter yesterday.
While waited for my turn, I was thinking why did the cashier need to go to the kitchen and help bring out the food? If the drive through was not opened and why was the staff who was supposed to man the drive through not helping her? I noted that the cash register is working today.
When it was my turn, I asked for the reason that the 4 self-ordering terminals were not switched on. She answered that she did not switch it on yet. I mentioned to her that those terminals need to be switched on.
Clearly it would enable customers to place the orders and cut down the waiting time at the counter while the kitchen staff should have concentrated on preparing and ready the orders.
Was it the intention not to switch on the terminals a deliberate attempt to go slow? The staff who takes order of the drive through did not work the whole duration when the drive through is blocked. The kitchen staff don't have to work at usual efficient speed as the orders were delayed at the waiting time of customers. Why is there any need for the customers to spend time at the counter with great frustration while the staff were not working efficiently and in fact were idling around & talking?

I was asked to que on self service monitor rather. I told her I don't know how to use it but she dismiss me by saying there will be staff helping.
There were 3 or 4 long que and I've not receiving any help even though I've made it very clear I can't seems to be able to place order using this machine.
I went back to the staff and told her what happen and she dismiss me again and give me a sarcastic look.
I went out and get the drivethrough and manage to get my order in 5 minutes.
I really feel disappointed with the service and unhelpful member of staff. Never ever been treated this way in Mcdonald.

Read moreThis is my first time coming to Bukit indah Mac Donald outlet to eat my dinner. I went to one of the counter to purchase two sets of meal and upsize for both meals and one ala-carte item. So both meals include 2 drinks, and so my drinks are ribena and Fanta Frozen. As for Fanta Frozen, they have some smell in it, think they never wash or clean the machine. So I went to change to another one, which tastes the same, and I went to change again, they changed for me a regular size of coke, which I already upsize my meal at first. Last but not least, i am so hungry that I have to eat my food before I get any gastric pain. So after I ate some of the food, I went to change my drink, they gave me additional regular coke and all the while they even didn't apologise to me.
