I went Tiong Hua restaurant on a Sunday evening. It is really crowded and we took some time to have a seat.
Upon ordering, the wait is even longer, when we realized that the kitchen have forgotten our order after waiting for more than 30mins.
The century egg is not bad. Slightly salty but goes well with the century egg. The frog leg is fragrant and it is well cooked as the frog leg remains tender. However, the portion is quite small (Below are all chilli and spices)
However, tofu slice is questionable. The tofu itself is bland and taste of the dish is not blended. The whole dish is absolutely boring. Halfway eating this dish, we come to realized we have to stop this nonsense.
The rice is very expensive. The price is standard but the rice was served in a very small bowl. A standard male would have to eat at least 3 bowl and beyond.
Overall, this place is overhyped. The Chinese food are not as authentic and are modified to fit locals. The overall taste is very average and it is definitely not...

Additionally the proprietors have a mini market above their restaurant selling imported authentic snacks and condiments from China. Truly a "heat-sweat" meal we had but it was delicious and we would come...

Most dishes seems authentic enough until you try it and it’s a bit less spicy than some China restaurants we had been. Portion is small for the prices charged but then Pelangi is a popular F&B area so maybe that’s reasonable. Overall, I like the mapo tofu the best followed by the spicy cabbage. The spicy chicken was just average to me. It was not fragrant & spicy enough. The dumplings were average too. The food is not bad,...
