We went on 2 May and waited about an 1 hour in the queue before we had a seat which was fine because we didn't had any reservation. The soup broth is ok, food ingredients are also fresh. However, what happened during the meal fell short of my expectations of a steamboat dinner.
The ingredients were served relatively fast - just missing of 2 ingredients(white mushroom and fish maw roll). The mala and tomato soup broth came half filled in the pot.
We started our hotpot dinner, and after 20 mins, our tomato soup broth is drying up. For info, we only drank less than half a bowl of tomato soup each.
Got the attention of a young service staff to refill the soup but she came back with only mala soup and left.
So we got the attention of another waiter who happen to be going to the toilet. He said "ok, give me a while. I will bring the soup to you." After 5 mins, he came out from the toilet.. and ask... "You wanted tomato soup right?" We replied yes, and he said ok. But the guy never came back and our tomato soup had almost became tomato paste again.
The tomato soup was half refilled again only when my bf went to the cashier and spoke to the guy who seated us down.
Continued with our meal and the same thing happened again - tomato soup drying up, tried to get the staff to refill but to no avail. Most of their staff just said ok, but they never came back with the request. It was throughout the waiting process that my bf overheard the staff saying the tomato soup broth is running out in the kitchen cos they were too busy to prepare the soup broth. In fact, we had to stop cooking the meat even though we still have our mala soup as the tomato soup dry up and started splattering onto our arm. This is literally the first time I had to 'stop fire' while having a steamboat in a hotpot restaurant cos our soup is drying up.
4.Each time we ask for a refill of the soup, we mentioned to the staff about the 2 missing ingredients. Same thing, said they will check and never came back.
Knowing the issue, we are ok to forgo the tomato soup since we are left with half a plate of meat and the 2 missing ingredients. My bf went to ask for hot water to pour into the tomato soup so at least we can continue with our meal and at the same time to remind them of the missing ingredients. Then suddenly, the staff said.. "you didn't managed to key in the ingredient just now when order?" I told her I did order it and the items were in the ordered list. After a while, the same guy that refilled our soup came out from the kitchen and said fish maw roll is out of stock. Like... Okkk. At least let us know earlier and not kept us waiting?
How about the white mushroom? No, we weren't told that it was out of stock but it never came and we asked to cancel the item.
How did we finish our meal? The same guy that refilled our tomato soup poured hot water into the tomato soup broth. That's how the tomato paste became tomato soup again for us to cook the remaining meat so we can managed to finish our dinner.
All in all, food quality is ok. But service wise, it's bad. The restaurant is lacking of manpower and staff who care about their customers enjoying the meal. Utterly disappointed by the good...
Read moreCame here for dinner at around 5.30pm on Tuesday evening. Wasn't crowded when we arrived but after around 7pm the restaurant is much busier.
Soup base was ok. We had the Signature Fish & Mala. Signature Fish soup base was a little blend but we can taste the strong charcoal taste with the Mala soup was a tad bit spicy. Food served were really fresh. I like that they have quite a large menu with all my favourite ingredients like fried fish maw, pork skin, fresh fish maw etc. Handmade fishball & handmade fish noodles was as tasty too. Even my child wants more of it 😆.
They have quite a number of sauces available. Ambience wise was ok. Spacious & toilets were clean.
It's quite a nice place to chit chat over...
Read moreOrdered 2 soups (signature fish & tomato) and 2 waters. The fish soup was good but the tomato soup was a little bit on the sour side.. The sauces are good, and more importantly free.
We also ordered meat slices, fish, some cheese tofu and beancurd skin. The cheese tofu was good, but the beancurd skin was very tough (don’t recommend). As for the meats, we ordered some pork belly and some pork collar/butt. The pork collar/butt was the most value for money, doesn’t have too fats in them (essentially 1RM for 1 slice). Pork belly was alright. We were surprised when the fish was served, it was one whole plate for only 9RM++.
Overall, we spent 95RM for 2 pax and we ate our fill. Highly...
