Fern Pine Cafe — Restaurant in Johor

Sadly, overall experience here was poor. Ate multiple meals here, including breakfast, lunch (buffet) and dinner (buffet). Breakfast: coffee is either brewed coffee (adequate) or Nescafe coffee (gross). Pastries are OK, if not outstanding. Cooked food generally has nasi lemak, salads, rice and a rather sad egg station. Cereals are relatively low quality. Lunch is probably the better part of the offer, with a reasonable number of options, but the food is slow to be topped up, and the desserts are generally very sweet. The quality is overall low e.g. for chendol, they use evaporated milk instead of santan. Dinner (once) was pretty bad - food options limited, everything emptied out quickly because there wasn't much choice, and nothing was topped up quickly enough. Two stars. Went down for breakfast at 940am and most of the items were already out. Requested for curry chicken and papaya to be topped up. After waiting 15mins and making a few more requests, was told that there is no more papaya and there are other fruits that I can take!?! That is not the point is it - I would like to have some papaya but was told that I can choose other fruits!? A small bowl with 3 pieces of curry chicken was provided to us 4 adults after multi requests. We gave up and left the restaurant at 1015am to adjourn elsewhere for breakfast - obviously the trays of food were not top up and I pity the guests coming in as they will have make do with scraps from the various almost empty trays of whatever...

Went for a lunch with a thought ‘i shud give here a try’ and hoping it will satusfy my hunger and worth the $. Unfortunately it is not what i expected. Please the nex time you want to find a good food, dont based on their review. The buffet doesnt really hv much choices. The choices are only MALAY/LOCAL food and nothing else. The only avail drink is either HOT TEA / HOT COFFEE / PLAIN WATER. Its RM65 per head and written there from 12-2:30 but at only 1:40 the foods are mostly finished and some are not refill. Chicken rice is finished reason the rice is finish. Theres one tourist asking for the BUBUR CHACHA and the lady just told her ‘finished no more already’ 🤷🏻‍♀️...
