Parents wanted to eat biryani in Malaysia so I searched online and stumbled on My Biryani Palace that was nearby us that had pretty good ratings so we decided to try it out. Overall, food was good and enjoyable, server was really patient in explaining to us the menu and promotions etc. However, why my rating is not 5 stars is because the server was being too overbearing to the extent where we felt uncomfortable and awkward.
It is totally fine by us for servers to be checking up on their customers on how they like their food or if there’s anything to clear on the table etc. for a good experience, but he was excessively checking up on us to the extent where we started to feel uncomfortable, even not knowing what to say. he would come over to interrupt and ask us how’s the food midway while we our mouths are filled with food, and we have already told him when he came over before that the meat was super tender etc, because it is true, we really enjoyed the meal. But, I just felt that it was too intrusive, and rather not necessary to be coming over countless of times, and asking the same questions over and over again, and interrupting the privacy and dining experience of the diners.
Towards the end of our meal, he came over and mentioned that he will let us try an ice cream that is homemade. The way he phrased the sentence sounded like it was on the house, so we decided to give it a try. Turns out, we were charged for it. However, it was also my fault for not asking him on the spot whether anot we would have to pay for it.
While eating the ice cream, he came once again to ask us how was the flavour. My family didn’t know what to say alr, because we mentioned that we enjoyed the meal so many times so we just smiled at him. And he said something along the lines of ‘come on, give me some feedback on it.’ i just straight up told him that i was still chewing on my food and haven’t tried it yet.
Not too sure if this happened to just us because we were the only ones in the restaurant, hence he felt the need to constantly check up on us or what, but we personally felt that it was over the line.
Being attentive to customers in the store is one thing, but having a sense of awareness of when it’s enough is another. This feedback is not to bash them or anyt like that, but rather hopefully that they will learn out of this and take it as...
Read moreI like this restaurant because I can eat Indian food modified according to my preference. The staff here are friendly and the ambience of the restaurant is nice.
In particular, the waiter, Mr Santosh, is very professional and friendly. Actually, I am not familiar with Indian cuisine. And I am allergic to garlic and onion. Mr. Santosh explain patiently to me the ingredients and cooking methods of the dishes. And he can instruct the cooks to make dishes which suit my taste.
Although I am not a vegetarian, I like the tasty vegetarian foods offered here which are not available in Chinese vegetarian restaurants. For example, Dal Amritsari (lentils), Chana Masala (chickpeas), Aloo Gobi Masala (potatoes and cauliflowers), Bhindi Mooru Kulambu (lady's finger/okra with yogurt), etc. (Please refer to the pictures. Vegetarian menu is also attached here.)
Besides, fresh milk masala tea is my favourite.
Thus, I enjoy eating here.
However, the price is getting more and more expensive. I hope that I can be given discounts as I am a regular...
