During a leisurely public holiday morning, I decided to venture out for breakfast, reminiscing about the "old Chat Masala" I used to frequent before it closed down due to the pandemic. To my pleasant surprise, the dining experience exceeded my expectations, offering a rich tapestry of flavors that catered wonderfully to vegetarian preferences.
The menu was a splendid showcase of South Indian cuisine, starting with the mutton thosai, which was a perfect blend of spices and tender meat wrapped in a crispy thosai. The podi thosai came next, with its spicy and flavorful kick, making it a memorable dish on its own. The puri was light and fluffy, serving as an excellent vehicle for the flavorful accompaniments it was served with.
The tairu vadai was another highlight, with its cool and creamy yogurt tempering the heat from the other dishes, offering a refreshing contrast. Beverage-wise, the Madras coffee was authentically robust, a true homage to its South Indian roots. The meal concluded on a high note with the calamansi sour plum drink, a tangy and sweet concoction that cleansed the palate beautifully.

I waited for 5 minutes then your cook walks in from the front entrance and the polite waitress gives him my order. I waited for another 10 minutes then the cook walks out casually and takes some Ice cubes from your ice cream freezer. I asked him. He said my thosai is ready.
