We come here often as we work nearby in Plaza Damas, but today’s lunch was a complete disaster. A customer came in, sat with his family, and started smoking openly inside the café. There were children and other diners present, but shockingly, none of the staff bothered to stop him.
When we politely voiced our concern, the smoker became aggressive and told us to “get lost,” claiming that the restaurant owner was okay with him smoking. Even worse, the café staff did nothing to address the situation—instead of standing up for us or enforcing basic health laws, they just let it slide.
This is not only unprofessional but also a clear violation of Malaysian law, which prohibits smoking in eateries. We left feeling disappointed, unheard, and completely disrespected.
To the management: if you value your regular customers and the safety of your diners, train your staff to uphold the law and create a safe environment for everyone. Was totally disappointed! Read moreThe Place: Its a shop lot turned cafe but beautifully styled and decorated. Due to its size, there arent that many tables as you would see in a moderate size restaurant. Hence also, if you come during peak hours, yep, you gonna have a " Shushi Zanmai" que.🤭 Oh im not gonna tell you the off peak hours for fear the crowd will come during my fav time. 😂So u gotta find it yourself.
Once u have a table, it might be very close to the other patrons making it quite less cozy to have your lovey dovey chat with your gf/ bf. But if you dont mind that, its a non issue.
The food: I tried the Moroccan salad and it was delicious. The portion is larger than average and just having that for brunch, its definitely filling. The salad is different and due to this delicious flavourful salad, for any salad meal next time, i put this cafe as my choice, next to Chef Wans Smoke Salmon salad in his cafe in TTDI. Nice.
So I read a review about the 45 min que and 1 hour food delivery. Maybe I guess i arrived at the right time since i immediately got a cozy table and service was pleasant and fast.
I hope this cafe will grow and finally occupy a bigger location in plaza damas. They made a good start as a new...
Read moreI highly recommend Daydreamers, an Iranian-Malaysian cafe that pleasantly surprised us with its warm service and delectable cuisine.
During a recent late lunch visit, we were enchanted by the cafe's inviting ambiance, which provided a perfect respite from the heat. Nestled in Sri Hartamas and newly opened in February 2020, Daydreamers immediately captivated us with its lush greenery and charming Arabian-style lamps, evoking a sense of tranquility and natural beauty.
While I've sampled Iranian cuisine before, the dishes at Daydreamers, prepared with grandmother's recipes, truly stood out. Each bite was a delightful revelation of flavours and textures, leaving us pleasantly surprised. The friendly staff, always ready with a welcoming smile, further enhanced our dining experience.
In summary, our lunch at Daydreamers was a memorable culinary adventure that I enthusiastically recommend to anyone seeking new and flavourful dining...
