I could have given a slightly better review or chose not to say anything at all but the service rendered, left a very distasteful overall experience and I hope it does not happen to anyone else.
We went to the cafe to celebrate birthdays. I would admit that we made a mistake of bringing a slice of cake for the occasion as we had not noticed any sign of no outside food. When a staff was kind enough to inform us, we apologized for the mistake but was shocked by the poorly trained staff's sarcastic retort in his high and mighty, condescending tone "it is common knowledge of not bringing outside food".
Actually, he could have been the owner of the premise to have the arrogance to have made such rude remarks to any customers, as he was too used to lord it over the many staff. If he was, business must have been good for him to have forgotten how to treat his customers right. This was especially when we were apologetic when we realized our mistake.
Even without the unfortunate incident, the food was meh... I had initially thought it was really well priced until I tasted the food... From the very average coffee to the mediocre cakes... Well, it explains the price...
I also noticed other patrons around me.. mostly ordered just a coffee.. And, when I asked my fellow friends, they too commented that they have tasted better and definitely have experienced better service elsewhere.
Just to describe further on the service quality... when our coffee was served, the staff just said 'latte' and we had to ask if it was latte or gula melaka latte because we ordered both. Then, came cappuccino and again, we had to ask if it was with milk or soy milk as we had ordered both. The quality of service and food of this establishment left little to be desired.
Life is short and precious. Definitely not worth a second or a dime to be spent at a pretentious establishment as this. Plenty of better choices around.
I had only noticed the obscure sign of 'no outside food' on the wall, as I exited the premise... for good. I should have known better when I see the name but oh well, curiosity does kill the cat... We learnt not to be...

Been a fan of Foo Foo since it opened. I would find any excuse to introduce Foo Foo to my family and friends. Even if they already know about the place, it's a perfect excuse to meet up here after lunch or dinner. You know why? Because the desserts here never disappoint!
My top 3 favourites from Foo Foo:
Black Forest Trifle What is it? Sour morello cherry compote, chocolate roulade, dark chocolate mousse, chocolate feuilletine crunch and mascapone sabayon. Why I love it? It's a different take on the classic black forest cake without the heaviness of the cream and icing hence it’s a trifle. Smooth, velvety and not so sweet.
Pumpkin Tres Leches What is it? Yellow pumpkin cake, three-milk sauce, mascarpone cream, almond slivers, pumpkin seeds, pomegranate. Why I love it? It's a cake, half soaked in milk! With almonds, pumpkin seeds and pomegranate, it's a different bite of milky and crunchy every time. I usually have this with black coffee.
Strawberry Tart with Balsamic Vinegar Ice Cream What is it? Short crust pastry, creme patissiere, red berries compote, fresh strawberry slices, dehydrated strawberries. Why I love it? A perfect blend of fruity (strawberries), sweet (pastry and cream) and sour (vinegar ice cream). A classic favourite which has stayed in the menu since it opened.
Honourable Mentions: Passion Berries Pavlova, Apple Strudel with Creme Anglaise, White Chocolate Pana Cotta with Stewed Pear & Peanut Praline. Why I also love them? Classic desserts that always hit the spot.
They also have homemade ice cream that are not usually found anywhere else. Love their balsamic vinegar, black pepper mango, cherry swirl and chrysanthemum ice creams.
Recommendations: Bring your family and friends so you will have an excuse to have more than one dessert. Call ahead to book your table. Chat with the owners. They are...
Read moreWent for lunch nearby and was looking for some dessert. Saw foo foo was only opened at 3 but due to the rave reviews we decided to wait anyway and we weren't disappointed.
They opened the doors for us at 2.50. They asked us if we had reservations and I thought they were being cheeky looking around at the empty resturant. Lucky we came early as by 3.20 all the tables were fully occupied. Note to self, make reservations for next time.
Owner came at 2.55 and nicely guided us through the menu. Usually a place that opens at 3 would only start taking orders at 3.15 as the staff aren't prepared yet but by 3.10 we had our orders on our tables already.
Back to the owner, he recommended his fav strawberry tart and balsamic ice cream combo. The pastry was buttery, strawberries were fresh and the balsamic perfectly balanced the flavours. I had some reservations at the price (RM25 for the dish) but considering you'd normally pay RM18 for a regular tart at Alexis and another RM10 for a scoop of ice cream I think it's totally worth it. Plus the portion was huge.
We also ordered the sticky toffee pudding with ginger tumeric ice cream. I've had plenty of sticky toffee pudding and was surprised when I previously found out they're made out of dates, because overwhelmingly all you taste is the sweetness of the toffee. Not this one, you can clearly tell it's dates, and the ginger ice cream brightens the whole dish up. It's hot and cold, sweet and almost savoury, and again the portion was huge.
Had the genmaicha to cut the sweetness of everything.
Expect to pay RM 30-40 per person for dessert and coffee, but worth every Sen. Definitely coming again to try the apple strudel from AT (short for Austria...
