Fukuya which basically means "House of Happiness", is peacefully located at Jalan Delima, which kinda felt out of KL the minute we walked in. Ambience is great but not exactly the best and the place is classy with a minimalistic design.

Most of us ordered the Omakase Seafood 3.5🌟 and Omakase Beef Set 4 🌟 and honestly the sashimi here is absolutely fresh and delicious, but not the best. The service was actually below average as we had to go out of our private room to order any extras and that was like 4 or 5 times. We bought our own premium sake and they charged us a reasonable RM80 corkage fee which was fair. Besides the freshness of the sashimi, I actually have no good comments or recommendation for food in this Japanese restaurant....as it is just plain average. As to die hard sashimi fans.. This is a good place to explore but as for me... I would rather go for the full package with more rounded or balanced taste of Japanese food.

I have known this restaurant for more than 15 years. As far as I remember, the food, their service and ambience used to be excellent.

However, I just finished my dinner there and there were 8 of us. We are totally, utterly disappointed with the unprofessional service we received during the past two hours.

The menu was misleading in an item which was shown in the photo but a different item name in the caption eg the photo is a bowl of kitsune ramen but the caption indicates kake ramen. For those of us unaware, and the waitress that was taking the order also did not reconfirm or specify, a bowl of kake ramen was ordered instead of kitsune ramen as shown in the picture.

We waited for more than an hour for many of the items to be served. Some of the items was never served because it was sent to another table and we were not informed.

Additional items that we requested to be added were not added.

I hope the management will view this review constructively and can appoint a responsible representative to be leading the team in the restaurant instead of leaving it to some foreign workers from Indonesia and the Philippines to be serving in such a...

Seiro Scallop set a bit disappointed. That's always my choice to come to Fukuya. The scallop taste has changed. Before there're wasn't have crispy garlic flake and strong taste. Perhaps they had change another version. I personally prefer the very old version which is light and clear that can enjoy the taste of the scallop and the clear sauce. The rice is fluffly but no sauce causes it a bit dry. After finish scooping until the end only notice that they do put sauce BUT the sauce had all leaked out thru the bottom of the bamboo basket because the bamboo leave that layered under the rice is overly too small size which cause the sauce all leaked out to the bottom of the plate and as well as the rice all stick between of the bottom bamboo basket and can't take out.
