We visited on 5 Sept, lunch (~12pm)
What I liked • Food was fresh and tasty. • Wait time about 20 mins which was acceptable for lunch. • Thoughtful high chair that fits the Japanese-style bench seating so our baby could sit right beside us.
Areas to improve • The QR ordering system was very slow and showed errors; it took ~15 minutes end-to-end to get our order through. • Promotion clarity: Before ordering I asked staff if Grab Dine Out could be used and what items were excluded. I was told only the “Buy-1-Free-1” item were ineligible, so we avoided those. At payment, I was informed that the Mini Don counted as a promotional item too and therefore the Grab Dine Out discount couldn’t be applied. This contradicted the guidance given earlier and the explanation felt dismissive. The cashier then, (the staff in grey shirt) said I can order B1F1, and it’s not a problem at all, just that you cannot use Grab Dine Out.
Suggestion Please ensure staff give consistent information when we ask and not miss out anything for customers to find out ourselves. Also consider improving the QR system performance.
Overall, we enjoyed the food and seating setup, but the payment experience was disappointing especially the staff attitude who was so defensive and kept saying, all this are stated in Grab Dine Out T&Cs. I am aware about the T&Cs but promotional items are not listed hence I asked but they omitted some items which I happened to order too. Training should be given else maybe opt out from Dine Out to avoid the unpleasant experience...
Read moreI visited this place on the first day of Aidilfitri, and the staff informed me that the sushi train wasn’t working and that food would take at least 40 minutes to be served. Despite this, I decided to go ahead and place my order. However, the sushi train was actually working, and my food arrived in just 10 minutes—much sooner than the staff had claimed. It felt like they might have said that just to discourage customers from staying and make them go elsewhere.
The most disappointing thing about this outlet is that they keep their sweet sauce in the kitchen instead of making it readily available. Bodoh jugaklah. Multiple times dah kene dgn klcc branch ni.. always serve sushi first, then 30minutes later serve the sweet sauce. Wey org nk makan sushi dgn kicap. Kalau serve sushi, xde kicap, terpaksa tunggu lama lahh nak makan tu. Its 30minutesss for the sauce only. Buat dari scratch ke apa aku xtaw lah. Even dah remind that waiter tu, xsampai2 jugak kicap nya. Dahla kene order via qrcode tu. Then xhntr sekali dgn sushi. Satu hal pulak nk bckp ngn waiter tu utk hntr.
The worst part is that this sushi dah nak sama mcm sushi K*. Dah xjaga kualiti sushi dia. Rupa xikhlas…. Tgk pun dah macam apa dah. N dah makin mengecikk…
Please provide a good quality and improve your sushi...

⭐☆☆☆☆ (1-star)
I usually come to this Genki Sushi outlet almost every week and have always enjoyed the food and service. My regular order is grilled saba and inari sushi, and I always politely ask if the chef can prepare it without rice. I’m okay with less tuna or egg, I just don’t want the rice due to dietary reasons. Until now, this has never been an issue.
However, during my visit today around 6:30 PM, I experienced extremely rude behavior from two staff members (girl) in the kitchen. I asked the waiter to check with the chef if they could accommodate my usual request. While I was sitting near the kitchen window, I overheard the kitchen staff saying things like, “Tak pernah-pernah orang macam tu, siapa customer, menyusahkan orang.” That was incredibly disrespectful.
I told the waiter to cancel the order because of how unprofessionally I was treated. I don’t mind if the answer is no but I do expect to be spoken to with basic courtesy. I hope management will look into...
