The food almost killed me!

February 2025 I am currently living in Kuala Lumpur having moved from the States a few months ago. For my first Valentines day dinner here in KL, I picked Marini's thinking the food can't be horrible and the views of the Petronas Towers would be a bonus. I reserved via Whatsapp, they made you prepay for the whole dinner for two in order to lock down the seats. The total came to 2654RM, or $600 for the course meal, so not exactly cheap. They didn't have any other options, so there was no choice either.

When we showed up we quickly found out the place wasn't full, so the enforced prepay in full was to make sure they get their money no matter what.

This was a 9-10 course meal, the very first course was Gallagher Oyster with compressed musk melon and lime. I have the photo of the course menu attached. When the oyster showed up I picked up my spoon and to my surprise it was rock hard. I have never ever had a frozen oyster before in my life, so I asked my wife if this is normal. She didn't think so. So I asked to speak to the shift manager.

I protested that the oyster didn't seem fresh, otherwise why would it be frozen? He was very apologetic but insisted everything was fresh but he would get another set for us. A bit later another oyster showed up, it wasn't frozen, but it didn't look like it was freshly shucked either. I went ahead and ate it, it didn't have much taste at the time which was strange, but the moment I swallowed it, I knew it wasn't fresh. It was like a raw dead fish. Oh oh I told my wife, this isn't good. Of course, she didn't eat her portion.

The rest of the meal was nothing special either and we headed home after a few hours.

As soon I got home, my stomach started to ache, and it was all downhill from there. I am going to spare you the nasty details. But I had to run to the bathroom every half hour or so for the next 10 plus hours. Of course I couldn't sleep and my Valentine night was completely ruined.

After an exhausting night, Imodium pills finally did the trick and stop me from running to the bathroom. The very next day I tried to call Marini's, no one picked up the phone, so I contacted them via Whatsapp and told them about happened.

This is their response: "We thank you for your feedback and am sorry to hear of your experience.

Our management has been informed and we are currently looking into this matter seriously. We have checked with our other guests who happened to order the same dishes as yourself on that particular date, and are awaiting feedback – as we take this complain seriously.

Be rest assured that all floor and kitchen staff have gone through various training pertaining to food handling, and have received the necessary vaccinations as required by the Malaysian Ministry of Health. Once again we take no chances when it comes to food regulations and safety.

Please give us a few days to gather the much needed information pertaining to your case before we revert."

I pinged them again a few days later, they completely ignored me. We are not a week later, I got no more feedback from them.

It is quite obvious they just want me to go away and not bug them no more. They got their money and they certainly don't expect me to do repeat business.

My suggestion to you all, please avoid this place. Even if they don't succeed in trying to kill you with rotten food, it is obvious this business doesn't care about what happens to you. It is a churn and...

We recently had the pleasure of experiencing the sheer magnificence of Marini's on 57 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and let me tell you, it was an absolute delight for the senses. Nestled high above the bustling cityscape, Marini's on 57 offered an unforgettable dining experience that combined breathtaking views, a charming atmosphere, impeccable service, and delectable cuisine.

From the moment we stepped into the establishment, we were met with a sense of elegance and sophistication. The plush furnishings, soft ambient lighting, and tasteful décor set the tone for what was to come. However, it was the panoramic views of Kuala Lumpur that truly stole the show. The sight of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers illuminated against the night sky was nothing short of mesmerizing and provided a unique backdrop that few restaurants can rival.

The service at Marini's on 57 was impeccable, to say the least. The staff members were not only attentive but also genuinely passionate about ensuring our dining experience was flawless. From our warm welcome to the attentive recommendations provided by the knowledgeable waitstaff, every interaction exuded a genuine commitment to creating a memorable evening for us.

Now, let's talk about the highlight of the evening: the food and drinks. The menu was a carefully curated masterpiece, featuring a blend of modern and traditional Italian cuisine. We started with a selection of appetizers that showcased the culinary expertise of the kitchen. The flavors were vibrant, the presentation impeccable, and the quality of the ingredients evident in every bite.

As the night progressed, we indulged in main courses that continued to impress. The pasta dishes were cooked to perfection, and the blend of flavors and textures was a testament to the culinary creativity of Marini's kitchen team. Equally noteworthy were the succulent meat and seafood options, each dish a harmonious symphony of tastes that lingered on our palates.

If you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply want to treat yourself and your loved ones to an unforgettable experience, Marini's on 57 is an...
