Dined in at Para Thai.
I am not sure if the staff are too few or as some reviewers have commented, they are just depressed and hate their life. We had to wait to be finally seated though there were plenty of empty booths, and then waited quite a long time before hailing down a server to come and take our order. Between taking our order and preparation of the food was not too long of a wait however. Not all the servers are equally bad but there were two bad apples who avoid eye contact as they speed past you so they won’t have to help you.
The taste of the food was good but not great, maybe in the 3.5 star range. Similar to the experience of other reviewers, the portions of the entrees could have been larger, as you can see from the photos of the cashew chicken and the vegetable dish. The Pad Thai tasted fine but seemed to have much more egg than noodle. The cashew chicken was drenched in thick syrupy sauce and the chicken pieces were a bit over cooked. The pandan wrapped chicken appetizer seemed to be popular so we tried that and it was flavorful. Their Tom yam fried chicken wings tasted like ordinary fried chicken wings without any discernible spice at all. We don’t regret eating here, but won’t be...
Read moreHave not visit this branch for quite sometime because unpleasant experience few years back. But today just try my luck to lunch here and unfortunately they still sucks !
Ordered for deep fried squid and weeping tiger beef as main course. both food hard, chewy and terrible! not to forget raw vegetable on the beef side. Called their staff (slim and tall guy). i am asking for change but he refuse. what they can do is grill more the beef which make it even worse!
when i told to malay lady at the counter, she said they should get a new plate of beef. so that guy is not being honest with me! he just lazy isn't??
however, waiting time has improved a lot and thanks to malay lady at the counter.
tomyam chicken taste good but the chicken portion they cut into pieces. mango salad is okay okay. looks like Parathai doesn't have quality of standard in term of food serving. Pavillion branch way much better.
Now i'm still hungry because none of their food i can eat.
To Parathai team, you don't need to reply this review with your apology template and ask me to reach you guys in email after i put all photos and receipt here. GO FIX...
Read moreWhen we visited there was only a handful of customers, we took a seat and menus were brought over. I ordered Nue Phad Prik Thai Dum, Spring Rolls, and a Thai Tea. My wife ordered a Rice Noodle Seafood dish.
After we ordered but before the food was ready the waiter stopped by to go over the bill. The one thing that I didn't like and the reason that I only gave two stars instead of four is this...On the table the cutlery was placed on top of packaged wet naps. This isn't all that unusual but what is unusual is that that the waiter told us is that we would be charged to use the wet naps! There was nothing else on the table to clean your hands or mouth with! This really rubbed me the wrong way, I pushed the wet naps to the waiter and told him that I wouldn't be using them. The waiter took the wet naps away and returned with free paper napkins.
The food arrived, my wife's seafood dish didn't have any seafood in it. The waiter caught this when he sat the dish down, he took it back to the kitchen to have it fixed.
My meal was very good. Too bad the experience was ruined by the wet nap scam and an...
