Review of Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur – From Room 2516 Our recent stay at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur was nothing short of spectacular, and it will forever hold a special place in our family’s hearts. From the moment we arrived, we felt not like guests, but like family. A very special mention must go to Ashraf from Management, who went above and beyond to make our experience truly unforgettable. Alongside Amylia, who kindly helped us secure a wonderful deal, Ashraf ensured that every detail of our stay was perfect.
My husband’s birthday was celebrated in the most unique and thoughtful ways – from surprise cakes at breakfast and dinner, to the constant feeling of being made special throughout the day. Thank you, Ashraf – your hospitality is of a world-class standard, and we will always remember your kindness. At the Pool House Bar, we were warmly looked after by Mr. Sommu, Mr. Gobi, Azmail and the whole team. Their warmth, attentiveness, and cheerful service brought so much joy to our days. Mr. Sommu, in particular, made breakfasts lively with his humour and hospitality – a truly charismatic host who knows how to make guests feel at home.
Breakfast itself was an absolute highlight of our stay. The magic came alive thanks to the amazing team: Chef Salehan Safri – without doubt, one of the finest chefs in the Far East. His creations were outstanding. Sous Chef Greg – so knowledgeable, passionate about homegrown produce, and a joy to converse with. Farhan & Mimi – absolute stars of the breakfast service! They went above and beyond for us every single day. They are true gems of Hyatt and deserve the highest recognition. Zufran (the rugby player – such a kind, respectful young man), Bobby, Zakaria, Briget, Kama, T. Janine, Jay, Ray, Mena (always with the loveliest smile), the Dosa Chef, Rachel (Beverage Manager – incredibly professional and kind), Fiza (reception – always helpful and welcoming), Nirja, and Hena – who surprised my husband by preparing fresh mangoes just for his birthday. Hena’s creativity and attention to detail made us feel so cherished. Every single team member carried smiles, warmth, and genuine care. Even the housekeeping team – Aslini, Sarah, and Farizan – kept our room immaculate with such respect and diligence. Our family room (65 sqm) was spacious, spotless, and perfect for our needs, with beautiful city and garden views that our autistic son especially loved. The food deserves its own praise – a buffet to die for. The variety, freshness, and quality were exceptional. Learning that much of the produce comes directly from the Hyatt’s own farm on the 5th floor made the experience even more special. Visiting it with the chefs was both educational and heartwarming – an unforgettable personal touch. From start to finish, we were surrounded by kindness, respect, and outstanding service. Merlin at the lobby reception also deserves recognition for her professionalism and warm support she also managed to deal with an issue regarding house keeping which proved hassle free...credit also to Faiq & Navin also brilliant people ans hard working doing their best to get it right first time. The entire Hyatt team worked seamlessly to create an atmosphere that was not just luxury, but also heartfelt and genuine. The cherry on top of our stay was experiencing Malaysia’s Independence Day fireworks show from the hotel – timed perfectly, adding to the magic of our visit. To everyone at Grand Hyatt KL – thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving us such treasured memories. A special thanks once again to Ashraf, whose tireless support and thoughtful emails even helped us extend our stay. Without you, this magical experience would not have been possible. We cannot wait to return. Until then, please know you have given us not just a holiday, but an unforgettable chapter of our lives.
With love and gratitude, Aisha, Tal &...
Read moreI've stayed in this hotel for 3 days and the service was 5 star bare minimum.
The staff greeted me at the lobby was so kind and even delivered my food delivery up to my room , His name is Doni and he even arranged the valet parking for my friends aswell.
I Requested early check in (12 pm) i understand it'd depends on the availability but i arrived at 2 pm and my room is still not ready. After waiting for an hour (3 pm) i got the card to my room and went straight away just to find that my luggage is nowhere to be seen. I called guest services twice/thrice asking about my luggage whereabout and they said that it was on high occupancy and there might be a slight delay. Okay i can tolerate with that. After waiting for almost an hour when i was about to go visit the swimming pool , the guy came with my luggage.
And not to mention i even requested a complimentary birthday cake upon arrival in the room and yet again its not there. I called guest services again for a couple of time and the cake was delivered after almost 4 HOURS checking in.
After dinner i went to take a bath on the bathtub and found the water faucet of the bathtub is leaking. I had kids with me and its kinda risky for the kids to slip on the floor that the water was dripping in. I called guest services again asking for a maintenance staff to check on it the next morning.
The coffee machine wont dispense anything except water but the technician fixed it already. Later that day i found that my walkin closet handle was strangled 🤣 i dont know what to expect from a renowned hotel like this. Ive stayed at several hotel in malaysia and never had so much problem like this before. You can refer to my pictures attach below. The only good things about the room is the size and the view only , apart from that you can judge it by yourself.
Move on to breakfast , for the first day everything is fine no issue at all but the next day is absolutely ridiculous. I took the dimsum from the dimsum basket only to find that its already spoiled 🥴 i ate that yesterday and it taste way different then the one that i ate today. it was so sour and the smell is off , i told the auntie at the dimsum counter about it and she did changed all the dimsum (beancurd roll) to a new one and i took a 2 pieces to try it again and the second piece was still sour and spoiled. The first one is fine no weird taste or smell. Hopefully i won't get diarrhea from that 😅.
The pool and the spa staff was so friendly and welcoming aswell and the view from the pool is amazing especially at night. The sauna is all clean and staff was so quick on refilling the towel and bathrobe inside the changing room. Refreshments is also available inside the changing room. I went to the sauna later that night (11th may) and i used the hot tub jacuzzi , after awhile two guys came in and they sat inside the jacuzzi and few minutes later , a girl came in half naked and went straight in. This a mens changing room / sauna by the way 🥲The spa staff came in after 10 minutes and he asked the girl to leave the jacuzzi immediately , at first they refused but the guy kept explaining that it was only for mens and no mixed gender is allowed and she finally leave. I felt very uncomfortable.
And also after validating my parking card upon the night after checking in , my grandparents try to exit the parking lot and the guy from the parking booth said that they needed to pay RM 60 to exit the parking lot?? They called me and i was at the pool and went straight away to them to validate the card at the reception. It was ashamed that no one told me about the parking card needed to be validated every time i want to go out.
Overall i had a rather pleasant stay aside the problems that i faced. And thanks to Mr. Hong (front desk) for giving me complimentary room upgrade and even complimentary breakfast for 2 days. Hoping to return soon and see what have...
Read moreDear Luke (and the entire Grand Hyatt KL team),
I am writing this to express my gratitude, appreciation, and joy in Luke's assistance and amazing help throughout the past 6 months of my wedding planning.
My wife, Joey and I first entered into a contract with Grand Hyatt in October 2023, we have to give credit to Jia Earn of Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur at this juncture as her warmth and sincerity convinced us that Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is the place for our wedding to be.
Luke Frank - Senior Manager
Luke Frank - a handsome, vibrant, and charismatic young man was ever helpful whenever my wife and I have any questions at all regarding Grand Hyatt, we would like to specially thank his:
professionalism and knowledge - he has always been courteous and his knowledge of Grand Hyatt in terms of rooming system, ballrooms technicalities, and everything else in between have been an amazing help.
friendliness - he would always greet us with a smile and his tone and choice of words will always light up the situation.
Understanding - as all events go, nothing is ever smooth sailing from its onset to the end. Regardless, Luke has always offered help in whatever way he or Grand Hyatt could offer. Special thanks for Luke in being understanding that I planned for a small after party at the beautiful Diplomat Suite of Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur.
Personal touch - I will never forget the meal Luke bought for Joey and I at Thirty8 of Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. Despite a brief dinner of 2 hours, I have gotten a little closer to Luke and perhaps, the magic personal touch of Luke is why Grand Hyatt will always be a few notches above as compared to all the other hotels groups out here.
Relevant team members of Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur
On a related note, I would like to thank the following people who made my wedding a huge success:
Chef Han Zhen and his entire culinary team - the number of praises I got regarding the food of Grand Hyatt has been a 10/10.
Rosie and her florist team - for the table centrepiece and flower arrangement on mock cake. I have to stress that the flower arrangement and colours are exactly what Joey and I wished for, but Rosie and her team exceeded our expectations! The flowers were so beautiful that some of my friends took them home!
Izam and his banquet team - most of my guests are amazed by the efficiency, speed, and attentiveness of Grand Hyatt's banquet team despite each dish is being served personally to our guests. Many many thanks for the professionalism of the banquet team.
Priscilla & Peggy from Rooms Division and entire Grand Club team - special shout out to priscilla for being so understanding. I need to stress that this team has helped to arrange 4 rooms to be on the same floor as my Diplomat Suite stay on 23rd November 2024. This has enhanced our overall stay experience and also mitigated the noises we might have caused from diplomat suite during my gathering with my family members.
In closing, I would like to once again thank Luke for being the master coordinator within Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and making Joey and my wedding a huge success.
Our theme has been "personal touch & warmth" since day one of our planning, I am happy say we have done just that and more.
If there are any future events that I am planning, I will be sure return to Grand Hyatt and recommend Luke and his team to whoever who may need professional guidance and care in event planning.
Until next time Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur.
With love, sincerity, and...
