Gerai Ketapang Payung — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

One of the best nasi campur Malay dishes I've ever had. After trying it here for the first time, I ended up eating here every day for a whole week without fail. The variety of dishes is not extensive, but most of them taste superb. The fried rempah chicken, asam pedas, veggies, and sambal belacan are to die for. Price-wise, it's really cheap. Fried rempah chicken, veggies, mixed gravy on top of rice, and teh o ais cost only RM8

My only regret is that I didn't discover this...

Amazing food, very cheap, extremely friendly. Long line of locals that moves very quickly. You get to serve yourself, which is nice. I’m not very knowledgeable about Malay food, but this is like a more Malaysian style of nasi kandar. Get you some freshly fried chicken with lemongrass crab curry kuah, and some nice Chinese style veggies. Their sambal is amazing. Went here two days in a row and I’ll be back...

The owner (or at least the person whom I paid my meals to) seems very nice and very reasonable. Once I took one fish head curry, and the taste is a bit off, and I talked to him discreetly, he immediately asked me to get another replacement, and on top of that, he actually refunded a few RM back to me!
