My wife and I with our two little girls tried out the Creamy Tong Yum Goon and the Laem Charoen appetizers last night Friday 8 December 2023 and the experience was awesome. The taste was incredibly delicious. We have never tasted on our first visit cuisine that blows our palate.
We returned today Saturday 9 December 2023 with our elder twin daughters. So now its 6 of us and we are so happy that every single dish was a taste of heaven, from its signature deep-fried seabass with its aromatic fish sauce. And my wife was over the moon with her favourite poached cockles, the best she has ever tasted in her life!
We went for the creamy Tom Yum seafood which was as excellent as yesterday's Tom Yum goon. And we repeated the Laem Charoen appetizers for the twins, but what was shocking sedap is their stir fried cabbage with fish sauce, which I thought was just a simple veggie dish but it took our taste bud away to the celestial heavens.
The chef recommended Pineapple Fried Rice was tasty and delicious and NOT oily like others I have eaten in the past. Also their white rice is starchy and mouth watering to boot.
To end it we had the Thob Thim Krobs with its juicy pink Ruby and Thai coconut water and Thai Orange squash a favourite with my youngest.
The topping off of our delightful gastronomic experience was the par excellence service level of their serve staff. Special mention goes to "Met" who was discerning and a top notch pro in making my family feel so welcome and appreciated. No forgetting to give commendable credit to their super friend team "Eyra" and "Jamil", these superstars made a huge difference to our dining experience and we have mentally decided on the dishes in our next visit to Laem Charoen.
I RATE IT...
Read moreDining at Laem Charoen Thai Seafood in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur was an exhilarating culinary journey. Right from the start, the freshly cut coconut juice set the tone for an authentic Thai experience. Chilled and refreshing, it was the perfect accompaniment to the symphony of flavors that followed.
The pièce de résistance was undoubtedly the Clear Soup Tom Yum Seafood. Upon ordering, the staff ardently warned of its spiciness, even going to the extent of suggesting a milder version. Although I confidently declined the offer, their emphasis on the dish's intensity piqued my curiosity. When the steaming bowl arrived, the aroma was enticing, and despite their repeated cautions, I found the level of spiciness within my tolerance. The soup was a medley of rich flavors - spicy yet immensely flavorful. The seafood was commendably fresh; the prawns devoid of any fishiness, and the fish, tender and delectable.
The standout for me, however, was the discovery of blood clams on the menu. It had been ages since I had savored them. Laem Charoen's preparation was impeccable. Cleaned meticulously and cooked to perfection, each bite transported me back to cherished memories of previous indulgences.
In conclusion, Laem Charoen Thai Seafood offers a harmonious blend of flavors, authenticity, and quality. Highly recommended for those seeking a genuine Thai experience in the heart of...
Read moreGoing to Laem Charoen was a spur of the moment decision, so we didn't have any expectations (which was probably a good thing). Service was pleasant, the atmosphere was comfortable but overall, the food was a major letdown considering the price we paid for.
We ordered the fried rice, glass noodle and creamy tom yum. The food lacked taste, spice and general "Thai-ness".
Fried rice with prawn - no "wok hei", was lukewarm when it was served and tasteless.
Glass noodle - tasted like it was just toss with a dash of soy sauce. I am not sure if we ordered the wrong dish, but one would expect glass noodle to have some sort of spice/chilli prepared. This dish was made with egg, some vegetables and prawns.
Tom Yum - the only dish that was considered acceptable amongst the three, but more like the best out of the worst. The tom yum still lacked the fiery heat usually associated with this dish. I was expecting to have an explosion of flavours in my mouth, but instead I got a sparkler that quickly fizzled out.
I must admit that the seafood was fresh, juicy and plump but that's about it. Apparently they have their signature dishes that we didn't try, but honestly, I doubt we will ever come back. Or I may visit the ones in Thailand to see if the quality is the same as the ones...
