This is one of those experiences where I will always remember, not in a good way.
I booked this place at 11:30am, and came around 15 minutes late. When we arrived, the staffs were all too busy to attend to the guests waiting outside the restaurant. I still tried to be patient about it, seeing how they seem understaffed. Took about 8 minutes, then when I finally told them I booked a reservation, the male staff casually mentioned that our table was let go because we were late, and suggested if we want to sit outside. I was FUMING.
First of all, there isn’t any booking policy stating that the reservation will be let go if we arrived later than our reserved time. After I made the booking, they emailed a confirmation stating that the time given is for 2 hours, which gives an impression that as long as we arrive within a given time frame, that table will be reserved. Its hard for me not to compare their service with the restaurant opposite of them, because atleast that joint called us before we arrived, to double check if we are confirmed for today. And even when I also arrived a little late the time, they still reserved our spot.
What makes it worse is how unapologetic the staffs in this restaurant seemed about it, which riles me up even more.
I had to complain about this, and only then the staff took my complaint seriously and tried to find us a seat inside.
Overall, only around 2 staffs were very attentive and friendly, the rest were passive. I’m really surprised with the quality of service, considering the hotel priced food they serve here.
Now lets move on to the food.
Main dishes: Mee Goreng Mamak ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Char Kuey Teow ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nasi Tomato ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Steak Sandwich ⭐️⭐️ (The potatoes served with it were more flavourful than the steak itself) Butter Chicken ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dessert: Tuxedo Cake ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Drinks: Very Berries milkshake ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Coconut latte ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Best dish so far that we’ve tried was the Butter Chicken, the rest was just fine. There wasn’t anything particularly wrong with it, it was just underwhelming considering the higher price point (all the dishes started from RM30+). Presentation had no effort. The tuxedo cake was really decedent, rich and worth the try. The coconut latte was surprisingly really good, and that’s coming from a non coffee lover.
Alot of people said the pastries were good, but we were too full to try them out.
I was really looking forward to come to this restaurant, due to it’s halal certification but it ended up really disappointing mainly due to the service (and mediocre food). If you’re coming here to eat local cuisines, i recommend you skip it and drive to a local mamak/malay stall instead that tastes the same (or better) for 3x less the price. But if your curiosity nudges and you’re looking for a halal certified resto with ‘atas’ ambiance, i suggest you go for the pastries and desserts.
Would i come here again? Its...
Read moreWorst experience ever; never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Overpriced, does not meet my expectations, BAD BAD BAD. *Food arrived super late. *Menu was dis-organized, app to order the food is super “not-user friendly” *The waiter keep ask me to fill all seats or it will be released because we dont reserve EVEN if we already wait for 30minutes in que, not that we cut que to deserve this. (SIblings went to toilet to handle baby and kids)
I paid RM800+ for this kind of service and meals, and I'm not going back. Bolognese and all other dishes contain Indian spices. Not to be racist, but you should not turn Western into Indian-tern. Ordered basmathi rice which costs me rm7 but it's just a plain rice, I thought it's spiceful; plain rice for rm7 is big NO NO. Ordered a lamb biryani, got only 3 small cut of lamb (felt like it's leftover from other customer) for rm50, this really over price.
The cinnamon roll dough is excessively tiny and flat; it's like ordering a Danish pastry. And the flavour is terrible. The apple juice is extremely sour, and we must constantly stirring to ensure that the foam/puree does not float on top. Food tastes normal, you can get better service and food quality elsewhere.
MY HONEST REVIEW
I am mindful it is the weekend. I wouldn't mind queuing for 30 minutes to grab a table for 16 people. The malay guy who helped me was really helpful in obtaining us a table.
While we were waiting for the table to be cleaned, an indian lady with a shawl approached me and told me that a person who came after me was waiting for the table that I had already sat on; I literally sat there before him. I told the lady that I had gotten this table first, and the waiter gave the vacant seat to my family; obviously, I was the first. Fast ahead, the lady never apologises and simply gives me a black face after saying things such as “Siapa yang bagi? Siapa yang cakap?” as if quarrelling with me because don’t wanna release the table for me.
They provide our food and beverages in a disorganised manner. Some of us got our beverages after the meal was finished eating, and the majority of us got our drinks and food after a long time. Worse, one of my siblings received her meal after the rest of us had done eating and were waiting for the bill.
Yes, the manager/superior (a woman, not an old lady) served us nicely after and never failed to smile, but the restaurant service is quite poor, in my opinion. They only received one star because of the woman; otherwise, they...
Read moreWe have been wanting to come to this place since they opened their doors to patrons. However, we had not had the chance because our schedules were too tight. And today we had the chance to pay a visit and try their food after reading reviews from google and also other foodie blogs. And we brought along my mom to enjoy a special food experience. So we placed a reservation for 2pm and arrived just short of 10 minutes before time. We were given a table indoor in the smaller side area.
However, the experience was so bad that it destroyed the good expectation that we had earlier after reading the reviews. It was devastating having to wait almost one hour for my mom’s seafood pasta. There is no courtesy to inform that the dish will be late and we have to ask after waiting for almost 40 minutes. And I can’t imagine if I were to bring the whole load of family members today.
We ordered Char Kuey Teow, Locarasa Chicken Parmesan and Seafood Pasta. It is unacceptable when you send the food one after another when you are almost a semi fine dining restaurant. The Char Kuey Teow arrived after 20 minutes of ordering, then the chicken chop about 10 minutes later and the last one arrive almost 55 minutes after orders were sent. Clearly you miss the fact that food at one table should be served at one go since we ordered them at the same time. And when asked, your team members informed that the delay is caused by too many pasta orders.
The delay in getting the food make it difficult for us to really enjoy it and get the best taste of them. I would say that the ingredients are fresh especially what is served in the pasta and the chicken. Difficult to say about the char kuey teow because it is already cold waiting for the other food to arrive before we can enjoy it.
Instead of spending about an hour for lunch and we can go to other places, we had to stay there longer than needed. The seating area next to the main hall is also not cool at all even though they put small fans to circulate the air condition. And to make it even worse, the staff wrongly punch our table number during payment even though the amount is correct making it difficult for him to enter parking validation.
Frankly, I think this will be the first and the last visit because of this experience. Moving forward, I recommend that you have a better SOP to deal with food delays and have a better customer experience journey aiming for,...
