Had a terrible experience at Lucky coffee / monroe
It was 12pm on a Sunday. Four of us decided to try out lucky coffee for brunch. After getting our table, my friend and I ordered first, while 2 of our other friends waited at the table. I requested for the picnic (salmon, pastrami, coddled egg, bread) and my friend ordered the salmon Bennedict. The staff then told us that there were no more breakfast. I then recalled seeing on Instagram that monroe serves all day breakfast, the staff then said its finished, and said we can only order from the lunch menu. So he recommended us a few dishes and we ended up ordering the aglio olio.
We told our other 2 friends that the breakfast menu is no longer available, and our other friends then proceeded to order. Now there were 2 staff manning the counter. Our other friends tried to ask again for the breakfast menu, and the staff said it’s available and we could still order. So I went back to the counter to ask again and now the other staff said it’s available. I mentioned that earlier the staff said it wasn’t available, and the initial staff was just giving excuses and mentioning that it’s available, he was probably beside his manager. The staff didn’t even apologise for the mistake. Confused and annoyed, we cancelled our aglio olio and ordered back our initial order. My friend also ordered an oatmilk latte. Please check if something is / isn’t available before straight up telling to your customers and making up excuses.
The drinks arrived, first one being a latte and another piccolo. None of us ordered piccolo so they took it back. After 4 minutes or so, the staff realised they mistakenly given the latte as it wasn’t what we ordered and replaced it with the oatmilk latte that we ordered. After the staff took away the latte, he then immediately gave it to the table beside us, as they mixed up our orders. Firstly it has been some time since the order mix up, secondly we could have drank it or blew on it, and you immediately gave the table beside us that drink. Please have the decency to at least remake another drink for them? That’s disgusting and unacceptable especially during this pandemic 🤢.
Now our food finally arrived, the picnic (salmon, pastrami, etc) only had pastrami and there were no salmon. Had to call the staff again, and they took it back to add the salmon they forgot. The salmon also tasted abit too sweet. The rest of the food were okay.
They also mistaken our orders multiple times, and just told us that 4 of us can seat at monroe, despite that there were no available seats for 4 as it was fully reserved, without even checking for the availability.
Overall we had a terrible experience. Good ambiance, okay food, terrible service. Please improve on your service especially for a restaurant that is part of a hotel.......
Read moreThe atmosphere is nice. That’s all I’ve got to say about this place. Food was really bad that it overshadows the nice ambience. It’s not even worth 1/3 of the price.
My friend and I ordered the Salmon Tea Rice and Garlic, Lemon & Tuna pasta. First off, presentation. It wasn’t appetising. It looks like food served in a really budget coffee shop. But we paid RM28 for each. Please refer to the photos and see whether it’s worth it or not, you be the judge. The tea tasted like instant chicken stock soup. For my pasta, the tuna tasted like canned tuna. And the pasta wasn’t even hot!!! 0.5/10 food
For drinks, we ordered Bon Bon (espresso + condensed milk). It’s a drink that nothing can go wrong, so not much to say here. But for the iced matcha latte. I’m so disappointed. RM16 for a cup of extremely diluted matcha. I don’t think they even use quality matcha powder. It tasted like matcha flavoured milk.
Overall, it’s really a terrible visit. I hope the management can upgrade their food menu. Staff were friendly too. Don’t penalise the staff because of your severely...
Read moreThis is the worst place I’ve ever been to. Not just in Kuala Lumpur—like, ever. Absolutely terrible breakfast. The eggs were in yogurt (??) and so spicy it was impossible to even touch them. Service? Minus ten zeros. Food? Minus ten zeros. Just like the coffee. Well, actually, scratch that—the coffee was amazing. Okay, fine, the coffee was the only good thing. But everything else? Pure disaster.
To top it off, my boyfriend ordered pastrami, just pastrami, and they brought him a sandwich—nowhere in the order did it say anything about a sandwich. They completely messed up the order, brought the wrong food, and the whole experience was just awful. Honestly, I’d rate this place a solid minus zero.
Never, ever coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to...
