It has been 24-hrs since I hosted a dinner party for 18 of us here at Atsky KL. I would summarize the whole experience as "horrendous". I have been contemplating whether or not to leave this review and for the 24-hrs, the answer is the same - yes..
Where do I begin..similar to one of the patron leaving a review here, if I may, I will rate the whole experience as 0 star or perhaps -10 star..
Knowing that I will have a big group with me, to ease food order & the ensure the smooth running of our team dinner, I've took the liberty to send pre-order food & beverages list. To my dismay;
The so called pre-setup table with RM310 charged (so I can book & secured the table instead of walk-in), seems kinda overprice..no cutleries were arrange..no sharing plate were arrange..isn't that basic table setting? especially when the food order come with finger food for sharing..basic common sense..
I was expecting that the finger food will be ready as we come in but yup of course it's not.
Shared the pre-order list 3 days prior to the event date & constantly checking is the menu ok? especially my 2 special order for vegetarian meal..not ordering anything out of this world, just vegetarian pasta anyway, but as a courtesy & respect as we masuk tempat orang, I just check because it is something off the menu and yet, on that very day itself I was told "oh caesar salad and pizza dah lama tak ada in the menu.." are you effing kidding me? then why didn't you tell me when I shared the pre-order list 3 days back???!!! If dah lama tak ada why is the food still listed in the menu?? Shouldn't they cross it..it is not about item 86 but "dah lama tak ada in the menu"
Pre-order vegetarian pasta - no vege but pasta with few squid ring..not it's not onion ring..it is legit squid ring..owh dear..owh dear..pls don't tell me your chef do not know what does "vegetarian" meal
Pre-order 4 chicken cordon bleu - on that very night when all the main course slowly crawling out from the kitchen "sorry kitorang ada 3 je"
This is the worst ever experience and the fact that I have to walk passed this terrible, horrid and awful restaurant everyday is just...
Read moreCelebrated my brother's 50th birthday. If i could give 0 stars i would.
No reservations allowed, only walk in. Reservation is possible only when you pay for decorations. Which we did, since its my brother's 50th birthday. Decorations: ok only as in the FB photos.
When you enter the restaurant, front table is full of things (mineral water, laptop, and others) which is so messy.
Food! How do i start??! There were 8 of us, family and invited guests. 4 of us got our food about 15 minutes upon ordering. But the other 4, only get their orders after 1 hour of waiting! The rest of us have finished our meal, and they were still waiting. It was so embarrassing, coz its a celebration and our guests were SO hungry.
Food quality; HORRIBLE.
We ordered Youyou Steak l. It was pink! And so chewy. It doesn't look at all like the picture in the menu. Waited 1 hour, so hungry, and the meat is raw and chewy. It was so unacceptable! We had to return the meal because it was not eatable! They recooked the steaks for us, but although it looks better, but the taste is still not good.
None of the meals we ordered came with salad or any type of vegetables. When asked, they said that they have run out of vegetables. How could a restaurant run out of vegetables?
The birthday boy ordered ice coffee. It was served in a disposable plastic cup?? Like the one in pasar malam. Even the mamaks has better plastic cup. When asked, the answer was "we have to bring the glasses from upstairs, so it will take longer if we serve in the proper glass". Like what? I was already speechless especially seeing a lot of glasses displayed at the wall cabinet. Well how worse could it get.
They don't even bother to take out the post it notes on the plates when it was served to us. See photo.
The only thing good was the waitress. She looks new, she was nice and very helpful. I feel so sorry for her when we complaint so many times to her.
At the end, they gave 10% discounts out of the total bill. But some of us left hungry and it was so embarrassing especially to our invited guests. This will be the first and the last visit to this...
Read moreFirst off, service should be enhanced. This restaurant is located in the city centre, whereas the use of technology should be nothing questioned. A lot of diners (especially with pack customers) provide QR codes according to table numbers to make ordering experience much easier, without the need to wait for the lack of waiters/waitresses to come and finally take the orders. After all, this restaurant seems to be quite popular in the area. In addition, they only receive cash or QR payments as there were no card machines on the cahier counter. They should make these little details clear.
While ordering, there was an obvious noise of loud scolding from the kitchen. The waitress showed tiny effort to listen to the order and keep looking to her back for quite some time, making her appear distracted. The ordering process took a while, with the feeling of discomfort crawling all over the place. Thankfully, she repeated the orders clearly before going back.
The most unbelievable thing happened was the timing when the show Cocomelon suddenly appeared on the previously turned off TV, with ear-piercing volume and immediately stopped right when the shouting from the kitchen ended. No staffs intended on reassuring the customers about the incident, as if it never happened and went straight back to business.
All in all, the meals was enjoyable -though it can be said to be average and the atmosphere was considered nice, both indoor and outdoor spaces. In terms of services, many can be improved according to the modern city life and the adequate manners everyone expect from the diner. Most people want to feel welcomed.. and sometimes, people are expecting a small touch of technology that is agreed to be the problem solver of many kinds.
Was it worth it?
Yes, if you are looking for western food and having a good time with family.
No, if you prefer the overall dining experience.
Everyone deserves to spend their worth in somewhere more...
