Since it was a lunch seating, I felt that the chefs were able to focus more on each guest’s experience, which was wonderful. The head chef (at least, I think he is the head chef) seemed very serious, so I want to apologize for asking so many questions—I was just genuinely curious about each type of fish being served! I tried my best to remember the names and details, though I’m still unsure what the first nigiri was. Maybe it was cí魚 or chí魚? 😆 The younger chef with glasses was quite humorous and kindly answered my questions about the food, which I really appreciated.
We ordered the Sushi Lunch Set, which came with 2 appetizers, 12 pieces of nigiri, 1 hand roll, miso soup, and dessert—all of which were fantastic. We also added a uni hand roll, and the amount of uni was very generous. Thank you! Just to clarify, my 4-star rating doesn’t mean the food was bad; it’s simply that a few items weren’t exactly to my taste, but that’s a minor detail. The fish was fresh, and the rice portion for each nigiri was just right. Thank you!

I recently had the opportunity to try the Omakase experience at IKI Omakase, and I must admit, I was left underwhelmed and dissatisfied. The overall omakase vibes that I had anticipated were simply not present, and the lack of chef participation and interaction with the customers during the food serving was a major letdown.
First and foremost, the essence of omakase is the unique and personalized experience, guided by the skilled hands of the chef. However, during my visit, the chef seemed disengaged and distant, as if going through the motions rather than actively connecting with the diners. This lack of interaction took away from the charm and excitement that an omakase meal should provide.
Furthermore, the dishes served lacked the creativity and finesse that one would expect from an omakase meal.
