Been to few branches of HDL in malaysia, but this branch has the worst service.
Paid rm 8per pax for the sauce, but the sauce section has no bowl. I been to the section few times to get my sauce but every time forced to go back to seat as there is no bowl and ppl are lining to wait for the small bowl. Somemore, the fruits plates always left with few fruits, does not look appetising as they look like leftover. THIS IS SUPER Duper TERUK. PPL HAVE TO CROWD AT SAUCE SECTION WHILE THE COVID STILL ALIVE.
(PS: for my first round when I went to the sauce section, there was actually one empty bowl left at the place where the customer should take the bowl to fill in the sauce, but the bowl was too oily, so few customers took and saw just put back, in the end another customer used it)
Waiters are not attentive. I have to stand up and wave my hand in order to get someone to assist me. That's so boring.
No popcorn, no ice cream (these 2 the waiters said finished dy while I reached at 6.50pm weekday), no magic stick. I saw some ads about this branch serving milk tea & I thought they provided for free. But when I asked, we have to pay for more than rm 10 for each cup.
I ordered minced prawn and no waiter assisted to cook. It's different with the pavilion branch where the waitress take the iniative to ask whether assistance needed.
Rubber band for hair is not provided and i have to request for one. Other branch will give me one pack of stuffs inclusive of the glasses wiper and rubber band.
A lots of waitresses and waiters but seems to be untrained. Supposed to have one waiter serving us, but half way don't know where he went and we have to keep looking for different waitress or waiter passed by to assist (half way until end).
Ask for free pudding to bring back and the way the waitress responded is not so welcoming. I now HDL do provide free pudding to be take away by the customers and the waitress' reactions made me feel bored to try other secret code or get other free stuffs.
Ordered clean soup (ć 渣) for mala base soup but inside the soup still hv a lot (not only few biji) of peppercorns & chillies which choked my friend. Wanted to get the waiter of our table to filter the soup but couldnt get him, so we choose not to make extra order.
Ordered 3 base soups and only tomato soup has only been refilled for once. Other soup no waiter offered to refill.
I know HDL popular with their good services and not their food. I chose this restaurant and I paid for the service expecting to get good service. But in fact, I don't think their service deserve my penny, overpriced for this kind of service. Don't think I will go for...
Read moreMy friend called to make booking for 6 pax@630pm today and confirmed once again as we were informed we have to split into two tables(so two calls were made for the booking.) When I reach there on time, there was no booking found under my friend's name or number. I was lucky enough to have been seated though. During my 30 mins wait, no water or titbits were served at all. (Not a big issue but they could have done better.) The most disappointing part was the lack of experience/attention of the waiter that serves us (his name is ĺĽć as per receipt). After I am done selecting the soups, and requested assistance from him, he just immediately press Next without asking me whether I want to customise the soup (eg: thicker, spicier, and ć 渣 for mala). I told him I havent customise the soups yet and he said he will change for me while taking the ipad to himself and asking for my preference. In the end, the mala comes with lots of peppercorns and chillies and so on. I doubted he changed anything, maybe just pretend that he did. During the meal, foods was served very slow and I have to sieve all the peppercorns and chillies myself into a bowl. After that, while we were eating, he even asked us to check whether what we ordered was served or not by going through the list ourselves. (Other branches always check the list themselves and very attentive.) End up, there are food still omitted and we cancelled it. He compensated by waiving the condiments fee but all of us were really having a hard time enjoying that meal as did not expect this kind of service despite spending around RM500 there. My friend ordered a jug of watermelon juice and he just put it aside (on top of their trolley and he totally forgot about it). My friend still has to get up for few times to take the jug from the trolley just to have a drink. That's because he always came and take the jug away and forgot about it again (he intends to pour for us but he just dont remember the whole time.) Overall, a bad experience and I dont think I will go back to Bangsar outlet. That was my friend's first trip to HaiDiLao and I think its a let down for her (since HDL is famous for the good service). As for me, I will just go to One Utama's...
Read moreJust like before walking across a street you should look left and right; before going to a place on google maps for the good reviews, you should see if the place tries to bribe or harass you for a positive review. And yes, this place does that.
The epitome of ludicrous pricing was when I paid RM35 something for 4 tiger prawns, which I later learnt that couldâve been cheaperâŚ. Almost everywhere else.
As if I didnât pay enough, my time was constantly bombarded, invaded, and intruded by the so-called famous Haidilao service, whereby in my experience, just meant doing and asking a lot of things you didnât ask for. And you have to pay for them, anyway! RM8 for a bowl of sauce. Uh, what?
Now I did appreciate the accommodation and hospitality offered here, but one particular waiter stood out and tainted my whole experience here. He continually bothered and pressured for me to write a positive review about this place. Oh Iâm sorry, I didnât pay enough to be here that I have to do something for you too? Now, he did appear somewhat less pushy about it: âif you donât want to, itâs okay!â But I just couldnât believe that wasnât just a faux-polite gesture because I believe he asked us to review the place at least 4 times. So thatâs in part why Iâm here reviewing this - cause I promised him I would review! Just didnât say it would be positive.
And you should expect to see what youâve probably seen on TikTok or rednote where they dance and sing for you, but imagine it happens at least 3 times over your course of one meal. The first time youâd go: oh thatâs interesting. Nice vibe! The second time youâd think huh again? The third time: omg I get it.
All points above mean youâll probably be paying a whole lot of money for a whole lot of annoyance, not a whole of food (soup and drinks are good, albeit also overpriced), and youâll be part of the bazillionth time that the same TikTok is filmed about the famous (and honestly severely overrated) Haidilao experience in Bangsar. I hope itâs better elsewhere but I wouldnât put my money anywhere near it...
