Tried the Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah at Nasi Lemak Burung Hantu, Bangsar. Overall, it’s decent but doesn’t quite justify the RM18 (after tax) price tag.

The ayam berempah portion is just a small L-shaped thigh. It isn’t very crispy or aromatic, and honestly feels like it’s been refried a few times. Not the bold flavor I was hoping for.

The rice is basmati, which is nice compared to Village Park, but the taste falls short. It’s saltier than usual, slightly oily, and lacks fragrance.

The sambal needs to improve. Village Park’s sambal is spicy and salty with a good kick. Here, the sambal is more on the sweet side, almost like Kelantan-style sambal. Sweet is fine, but it should be balanced out with more heat and saltiness. Sometimes it’s not even spicy, which makes the plate feel incomplete.

On the brighter side, the anchovies are fresh and crunchy, the nuts and cucumber are just right, and the fried egg is nicely yolky. But it’s only a small S-sized egg, which feels cheap considering the price. The kangkung portion is also very little.

Lastly, avoid ordering through Grab. The nasi lemak arrives cold and the chicken becomes even drier, which makes it less enjoyable.

Overall, it’s okay if you’re nearby and curious, but for the hype and price, it still doesn’t beat...

Came for brunch-ish around 10am after my morning walk nearby. First time here and I appreciate the staff's attentiveness when I went. When we arrived, there were still a couple empty tables, not too crowded, so the staff was able to immediately seat us. From sitting to ordering to getting our food, service was very fast. You have the option to either order at the counter or from your table. The waiters on duty (13 Sept morning) were very welcoming - clear voice when taking down our orders. Food wise - I'm not entirely a fan of Basmathi rice for my Nasi Lemak but this was pretty good for me. Sambal was suitable for my taste too. I would say the portion of rice with the accompaniments (chicken, egg, veggies, etc) matched the price. I was full until late afternoon 😂. Considered on the higher range for Nasi Lemak but hey, it's KL. The crowd started to pick up around 11.30am as we were leaving so plan out your trip if you don't want to queue too long. IMO - Good option but I wouldn't wait in a queue...

I never want to go back to this place again! In our visit to have tea and snacks; we ordered roti chennai and egg Omelette for which we had to wait for ages and when the food arrived at our table, we were served sugarless tea , roti chennai that was not even cooked well inside the dough and the Omelette looked and tasted weird and hardly edible! When we requested sugar for the tea the waiter grabbed hold of the tea glasses and returned after a good 20 minutes with the same glasses of tea gone cold and still sugarless as before. The waiter had a crazy expression as if he had just landed as an alien from some unknown mysterious planet. Before serving every dish, he would ignore our table and take a full walk around the rest of the tables 360 degrees before finally returning to our table with the meal gone cold and withered from all that bucketfuls of sweat dripping from all that long marathon. Please do something about the weird waiters, either replace them or...

The most average and very mediocre NLBH outlets I ever tried. No sense of welcoming the guests. The restaurant was not so full and about 70percent occupied. I didn't want to have nasi lemak as my wife had it. I had two onion tosai. Nasi lemak sambal was somehow not like all the outlets. The tosai was on the sour side as I think the flour was too long on the fermentation. The service was like drop and go. I have to mention that the NLBH outlets is the one Hartamas. Their standard is way too high and they are definitely the benchmark for NLBH. The supervisor on the floor last night 27/8 was looking like she had bad day. Nasi lemak could be the same in your outlets but service matters and it should not differs.
