Very honest review, two stars out of politeness. Everything wasn’t up to expectations due to the picture on the menu looks good but in actual it just looks like fast food.
A friend of mine came many years ago and said it was the best thing here but she was too embarrassed to even admit it now, seeing how much the quality dropped.
Food served was cold, all the meats especially, the sauce was very limited and when we asked for extra, they secretly charged us extra despite us checked if it’s free or not. I guess this is also because this place isn’t very English friendly, or they couldn’t understand us well (English as our first language, Malaysian Chinese).
Staff who took our order was friendly but also didn’t live up to the promise I suppose because he said ‘if cream finished, can ask for more’, so we did and got charged for it. We tried to asked for extra fries but it was at most 15-20 pcs of fries in our plate that had more empty space than actual food itself. Idk, you be the judge and see the picture.
Staff wasn’t very attentive and it was maybe 30% full on a Tuesday night.
The meat tasted very mediocre, as compared to others like Tarbush or even the Arabic restaurants along Bukit Bintang. It’s dry, small portioned, not juicy, and not hot. It’s a miss for me.
Turkish coffee was seriously my first and my last. It’s an acquired taste after all but it tasted...
Read moreOn a recent visit to Marakesh Restaurant in Kampung Baru, I was looking forward to enjoying a pleasant Middle Eastern meal. Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired in terms of both food quality and hygiene standards. Given the reputation the restaurant seems to carry, I had much higher expectations, which were, regrettably, not met.
To begin with, I ordered the lamb couscous, mandy chicken, and hummus. While the hummus was acceptable and the freshly baked bread was delightful, the main courses were disappointing. The lamb couscous was absolutely bland—completely lacking in flavor, seasoning, or even basic salt. It was so unappetizing that I could not bring myself to finish it. The mandy chicken fared slightly better, but the rice was still rather dull and underwhelming in taste.
Beyond the food, I also observed a concerning issue with hygiene. The waitress attending to our table, who appeared to be of Filipino descent, had long hair that was left untied. At one point, her hair fell onto the menu while she was taking our order, which is simply unacceptable in any food and beverage establishment. Staff working in the F&B industry should maintain a neat and hygienic appearance at all times, especially when handling food or interacting...
Read moreHere we can have nice arabic food with cozy atmosphere. I would suggest to try the mandy lamb. The rice and meat blend so nicely. Thr fragrance make your stomach feel hungry immediately.
They have family set that can afford up to 4 stomach with affordable price. The set also come with lamb soup, a pot of arabic tea and sweet.
Thry also served shisha. But i never try so i cannot comment wheter it is good or not.
At the night, the restaurant always have lot of people. Some of them having dinner with family, some of them having leisure time by having shisha.
The staff is good. But sometime they like understaf. Not always but sometime. Hopefully they already improve that matter.
They have separate space, aircond and open space. If you bring family at night, i suggest you take or book aircond space. Because at openspace, a lot of customer having their sisha.
Last but not least, i would say this restaurant is nice for family as well as for having leisure with friends. Thank you for reading my review. Please like if anyone think it is...
