A hidden bungalow converted to an authentic Pahang dishes restaurant particularly for the tempoyak patin.
From the menu, the three of us have a few sets that you can easily choose with a pre-determined price. We ordered Set Family Patin for 4-6 pax (RM127.50), consists of: Patin Gulai Tempoyak, 1 whole big fish Fried ayam kampung, 4 pieces Omelette, 4 pieces Mixed vegetables, 2 sets Ulam sambal tempoyak, 1 set Steamed rice, 1 big bowl Then we added masak lemak daging salai (RM15). For drinks, we ordered air masak, which is available free flow.
The whole food that we ordered was tasty and superb, particularly for the fresh tempoyak patin. Not smelly for freshwater fish. The portion size is big, the meat is tender and the gravy was not too spicy. The ayam kampung was tender and crispy. We reckoned that the food we ordered was for at least five people. Really big portions.
This restaurant has three private dining rooms and ample tables. There is an outdoor section available. There is an area to wash your hands and washrooms.
Their services are efficient and fast. The checkout and payment were super smooth.
The only setback is the parking. especially during peak lunch hours. The restaurant only has very limited parking spaces within the compound. Alternatively, park your car along the...
Read moreI recently visited this Patin Lipis KL and had a frustrating experience. I parked my car inside the compound after getting permission from a waiter and leaving my phone number on the dashboard.
I ordered two meals—one to eat in and one to take away. While I was eating, the cashier asked if my car was blocking someone’s exit, so I moved my car as requested. Upon returning to the restaurant, I was shocked to find that my food, which I hadn’t finished, had been cleared from the table. Despite my explanation to the waiter and my surprise that the take-away order was still on the table, my meal was removed.
The cashier apologized but didn’t offer any form of compensation or solution at the time, and i just pay for what i ordered. I only noticed a small RM2 discount on my bill after I got home.. ikan patin I ordered was not fresh.
This experience has left me extremely disappointed with both the service and the food quality. so...
Read moreI recently visited House of Patin Lipis KL, and overall, it was a satisfying experience. Their signature Patin Gulai Tempoyak and Pais Patin stand out with fresh fish that is tender, soft, and completely free from any muddy smell. The use of tempoyak gives the dishes a bold, authentic Pahang flavor. That said, I feel that the balance of taste could be improved. At times, the gulai was a little too thick or slightly too sour, which may overwhelm those who are not used to tempoyak.
Still, the quality of the fish is undeniable, and the smoky, well-cooked texture makes it enjoyable. Portion sizes are generous, and the prices are fair considering its location right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
The ambience is cozy, set in a bungalow-style space that feels welcoming and suitable for families or groups. In short, while there is room for improvement in fine-tuning the flavors, the overall dining experience was pleasant and...
