Me'nate Steak Hub (Sunway Putra) — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Finally came to try out this new outlet of Menate in Sunway Putra. Been eyeing it for quite some time now since its grand opening. So here’s my take on the place :

The restaurant for me is quite spacious. The seating and kitchen arrangement was quite nice as you get to get a peak of the action behind the chef’s counter. The seating area is also somewhat separated from the entrance thus you get to enjoy a more private dining away from any onlookers.

The staffs were really friendly and attentive. A lot were in sight so it’s not that hard to call for one. Kudos to the team !

As for the menu, this outlet is not any different from their other sister outlet in terms of the dishes served. We went for 3 pasta dishes, 1 burger and 1 beef ribs.

Mammamia Beef Carbonara Carbonara - Definitely the best one. It’s very creamy and flavourful. Portion was good too.

Mac and Cheese with BBQ Smoked Beef - It was super cheesy ! The tomato sauce was really good and sticks well with the macaroni. Recommended too.

Beef Aglio e Olio - My least favourite as it was quite dry and the flavour didn’t really shine through.

Wagyu Burger - The patty was THICK. Very well cooked and seasoned. Juices literally dripping from the side of my mouth. Hats off to the chef for this masterpiece.

Beef Ribs - My fav ribs spot ever ! Very tender and the sauce was addicting. It’s like a sin not to order this each time i came here.

Overall, the dishes doesn’t disappoint. There was a mix up with our orders at first but our waiter was honest about it and quickly correct his mistake. It was still an enjoyable dining session for us.

I would like to give a shoutout to one of the staff, Dian for helping me reserve a table for my family. It was a last min plan for me but she still manages to help me get a table. Her way of communicating with me as a customer was also plausible. Keep up the...

Had my lunch during 50% promo. Not many customer at that time. Made my order at 1.08pm (stated in the invoice slip). We ordered seafood marinara & mamma mia pasta.

Drinks came less than 5 minutes after the order. But the food, it took too long. The marinara came maybe around half an hour after the order, and the mamma mia, took forever. My husband finished his pasta, then the staf came and ask if I already had my order. Yes, not yet. And finally, almost an hour later, I got my mamma mia pasta. Kinda frustrated, try to understand if it it because of the promo or because of the lunch hour, but I guess, the kitchen actually forgot my order coz the serving staff came 2 time to my table to confirm.

And we waited too long, my husband feel hungry again and he made another order. but again, after half an hour, we didnt get the order. Finally, we ask them to cancel the order if the kitchen still didnt prepare it.

Afterall, the food was good, the staff also good and keep asking for apology. But the preparation time need to be improved.

Menate is my fav place for steak and pasta. I frequently visit the Setapak Branch especially for special occassion. And eventho we ordered large meal and few type of steak, but the serving time is short. So, I'm kinda frustrated that I had to wait for almost an hour...

I have eaten here twice now. Both times the food has been excellent. Service was excellent the first time and the second time service was just okay. The atmosphere, layout, and build quality is excellent. So, why not five stars? A few things. The tall round sit-down tables in the main dining area wobble, and stuffing napkins at the feet does not work and looks bad. Never serve a warm bottle of soda/Coke, even when you serve it with ice. Within about 4 minutes, I now had watered down Coke which made the Coke taste flat and there was no ice left for the other 2/3rds of the bottle. Nobody offered me more ice. IMO, with 40 years in the food, beverage and wine industry, get rid of the cutlery baskets, it does not fit your decor and quality. I finally got a clean spoon after three tries. On my second visit I saw there were fingerprints on the utensils. The only way to get the utensils out of this basket is to grab multiple utensils at the head. Not very sanitary, And the basket is more a standard for a cafeteria. Thank you for your time. PS.
