This was my second visit and I ordered the nasi kandar with ayam goreng, ayam madu, kambing, kubis and of course, kuah campur. The mix of kuah and curries here were milder in its intensity, spices and heat compared to other nasi kandar joints but don't get me wrong, it was definitely far from weak and bland tasting. Instead, I think it was a well rounded taste and packing just the right amount of aromatics and punch. I believe this makes their dishes suitable to most palates especially those with softer taste buds. Moving on to the ayam goreng, it was well marinated and deep fried to a light crisp without any batter similar to the ones up north. The chicken thigh was moist and the crispy skin bits were flavor bombs. As for the ayam madu, I think the sweetness and thickness of the kuah was done right. By that I mean it wasn't too overly sweet that it overpowers the other curries and that it also wasn't too rich in texture. On the other hand, the kambing could have been more tender but flavors and taste were pretty standard to me. The dining experience here can be challenging as it was situated outdoor with very limited tables and it can get very stuffy and hot. Do bring along cash as they do not accept TnG...
Read moreSupposedly the nasi kandar spot that Coldplay visited and tried when he was in KL for his tour in 2023 (kindly correct me if I’m wrong on this).
Visited during a weekday dinner dining time but was a little disappointed with the lack of variety of dishes to be picked from already. Its possible as I’ve opted into the wrong time to visit due to the end of the operation day and they sold out most of their dishes already.
Got cabbage, telur masin and fried chicken (breast part) with some ladyfingers on the side as well along side kuah campur; basically a mix of all the different curries and gravies onto the rice. Pretty balanced and flavourful curry mix of flavours overall and surprisingly not too overwhelming and burdensome post meal as well. Fried chicken was well flavoured and not too salty. Paired with the cabbage and ladyfingers and salted egg creates a plate of packed umami in general.
Solid nasi kandar spot in my opinion (as a non penang-nite/northern peninsular Malaysian palate) with balanced flavours overall. Perfect for non spicy takers as well as a gentle introduction to...
Read moreSaw this Nasi Kandar place top rated in KL among Nasi Kandar hunters. Gave a visit to this place for dinner. Ordered Nasi Kandar kuah campur+fried chicken+salted egg+boiled lady finger+fried cabbage. This only costed me around RM10 which is considerably cheap. The food was good and delicious. The only thing which I found unpleasant is the place where the shop is situated. This is an industrial area. A big garbage container is placed beside the shop. The shop is small but that's not an issue. Upon entering the shop, I saw big rat running around inside the shop. It was such a turn off to my appetite. Still I went in to order for food. I believe this place is quite popular among locals and nasi kandar hunters. The atmosphere of the shop should be improved drastically in term of cleanliness, sitting arrangement and lighting. If you choose to sit outside at night, you'll hardly can see what you are eating. Otherwise, the food was great and super cheap. If you are able to close an eye over cleanliness and poor shop atmosphere, then you'll truly enjoy among the best nasi...
