I had a thoroughly disappointing experience at Serai during a company lunch with my department team of 12 people. We made a reservation and opted for Set A, priced at RM68++ per person. However, the menu didn’t specify portion sizes, so we asked a staff member named Roslan how the set would be served. He informed us that there would be two servings of each dish, which he assured us would be sufficient for 12 people. We also inquired about changing some items on the menu, and he confirmed that we could, as long as it was within the same category. As a result, we requested to replace the gado-gado starter with sweet potato fries, and the chicken green curry and fried squid with dried chili chicken and salted egg squid.
What we received, however, was far from satisfactory for RM68++ per person:
4 bowls of sweet potato fries 12 iced lemon teas 12 servings of jasmine rice 2 standard-sized portions of sweet and sour prawns (7 prawns per serving) 2 standard-sized portions of dried chili chicken 2 standard-sized portions of fried brinjal 2 standard-sized portions of green curry chicken 12 servings of cendol
To make matters worse, there was a mistake with the order: we did not receive the salted egg squid, but instead, green curry chicken was served in its place. When we pointed this out, the waiter insisted that green curry chicken was part of the set, and failed to apologize for the error. The lack of courtesy and attention to detail was frankly shocking.
After serving us the cendol, the staff offered to make up for the mistake with banana fritters. We had to wait a considerable amount of time before receiving only two plates of fritters for a group of 12. To add to the disappointment, the cendol was inconsistent: some portions were overly sweet, others bland, and the colors varied from white to brown.
For RM68++ per person, the portions were unreasonably small, the cendol was subpar, and the service was incredibly lackluster. Despite expressing our dissatisfaction, they offered a discount, but it was applied after deducting the service charge. In the end, we still paid RM800++ for a meal that was not worth the price.
This experience was far below expectations, and I strongly advise anyone considering dining here to think twice before making a...
Read moreI love to eat at serai but mybe not today and not at this outlet . Went to KLCC outlet today felt disappointed on the service and on one of our meal . We ordered 2 dish. The lamb shank Rice was nice and superb but my wife Serai platter was on the other side . The seafood is totaly off which the squid kinda old n smell and we did informed the staff about it. They asked if they can replace it with prawn sambal so we said ok. Unfortunately, the prawn also was off and has rotten smell. Again we inform about it and the staff with black shirt came and take note on the seafood problem. On Service part , during our visit there was no crowd and it was not busy. below are the things that uncalled for

Read moreI’ve dined at Serai many times and the service has always been excellent, but this is my first time at Serai KLCC.
I understand that there were a lot of customers and the food might take some time, but we had already finished our meals and the vegetables still hadn’t arrived. On top of that, it was really hard to find any available staff to check with because I couldn’t see any inside the restaurant.
Alhamdulillah, all the food was delicious, although two of the dishes arrived cold.
Then I wanted to ask the staff to clear our table, again I couldn’t see anyone around, so I had to look for them myself. Still, no one came to clear the table. Eventually, I saw this guy and called him over to clear it because we wanted to celebrate a birthday. But he stared at me as if he was angry. Then, while clearing the plates and cutlery, he deliberately banged them around. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to ruin my family’s mood, so I just let his attitude slide.
But seriously, is this the kind of behaviour you want to show in front of customers? Even if you’re tired, the restaurant is about to close and your shift is ending, is it necessary to act like that? I’m truly disappointed with this staff member’s behaviour at Serai. Hopefully they...
