I recently had the pleasure of dining at Al Qas Al Iraqi Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, and it was an exceptional experience that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking authentic Middle Eastern cuisine.
Ambiance and Service: From the moment I entered, I was greeted with warm hospitality that made me feel right at home. The restaurant’s interior is tastefully decorated, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere that enhances the dining experience.
Cuisine: The menu offers a diverse selection of traditional Middle Eastern dishes, each prepared with meticulous attention to detail. I particularly enjoyed the sujuk shawarma and chicken shawarma; both were succulent and flavorful, showcasing the rich spices characteristic of Middle Eastern fare. Additionally, the manaqish, baked to perfection in a stone oven, was a delightful highlight that I highly recommend trying.
Highlights: • Authenticity: The dishes capture the essence of Middle Eastern cuisine, providing a genuine taste of the region. • Quality: Fresh ingredients and traditional cooking methods result in rich and satisfying flavors. • Service: The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, eager to offer recommendations and ensure a pleasant dining experience.

Read moreThe following are updated prior to August 2023. My Iraqi friend introduced me to this place and what a goldmine of a restaurant. (shout out to her!) TLDR Version Price 8/10 Flavour 10/10 Craving 8.7/10 Total: 8.9/10 Full review: There are a huge improvement on their existing dishes especially their alqas menu! I recently tried the alqas chicken and holy moly what a explosion of flavor that compliment each other. The garlic sauce, marinated chicken, the beetroot, onion, and tahini sauce combine into a craving yet powerful flavour, especially the beetroot giving a hint of sweetness while onion giving the spiciness. The alqas portion are above average and trust me it won't be enough since you gonna finished it within minutes. I tried the chicken, beef and mixed shawarma, the mix is overall the best since you get both for a chicken and beef for the price of beef shawarma. The blend of both chicken and beef is out of the world, chicken is often dry but with the juiciness of the beef remove the dryness of the chicken making a juicy bite with each time you take a bite. Their menu stayed the same but their flavor wise improved significantly. Oh they don't include fries in their dishes so those who are used to shawarma loaded with fries, some might avoid because of this but trust me, the vegetable out weight the fries. Beware the juiciness of their food might cause some liquid dripping! Order 1 large mix shawarma and 1 chicken alqas. Enjoy the flavor...
Read moreI usually don’t really eat shawarma but my husband does every time we visits KL since he’s Syrian.
Saw a lot of places selling shawarma around Bukit Bintang but this one caught our eyes since it’s less crowded because we were never the kind of person who follows the crowds so we chose to eat here.
I ordered beef shawarma, my husband ordered the chicken and sujuk shawarma. They make everything fresh upon order. Everything was good. Beef wasn’t dry at all, I personally like the flavor and the molasses makes it taste even better.
Tried a bite of the sujuk one, just not my cup of tea but doesn’t mean it’s bad, also my husband said the chicken shawarma was good but didn’t tried it myself because I’m not chicken breast kind of person.
Overall, the food was good definitely will come back but the place is just extremely hot even tho it was kind of raining but again expected since I sat in front of the charcoal stove, I don’t have problem with anything else since it’s street food so I know what...
