Went there tried their signature dishes like curry buttermilk lou shu fun, claypot lotus root pork etc. Well, because food tabloid sites recommended this place.
The food are not as flavourful as they look on photos. To be honest I find the lou shu fun taste lack of depth. Yes it's a special idea but the taste is definitely nothing more sophisticated than a watered-down spicy butter noodle. As for their other stir-fried noodles and meat dishes, the wok hei is there but apart from that they're just plain salty.
All the dishes there are more on the oily and salty side. Even for the non-oily/salty dish like the double flavour kailan, they went pretty heavy on the sugar. Some like it, some don't. Just a note for those with lighter taste buds out there. Health conscious folks would probably want to avoid this place.
Serving time is a little slow as the place is packed during dinner time but the wait isn't that bad. The environment is okay, pretty clean. It's fairly easy to get parking. Price wise, on average RM20+ per person if sharing food dishes. KL price 🤷
If you live nearby or this place is on the way, by all means give it a try. If you're travelling all the way here because YouTube made you do it, you might wanna think twice if a lou shu fun dunk in bland oily curry and other overly oily/salty dishes are worth you...
Read moreThe butter 老鼠粉 went viral and was suggested by a local foodie page. I had high expectations so decided to came for dinner. Thought the restaurant would be pack but to my disappointment, it wasn't.
All the food came after 10mins of ordering... it wasn't a good sign. If you really took your heart to cook it, it shouldn't be that fast.
Menu says Creamy Butter Lou Shi Fun but where got creamy? It is just soupy...with hint of curry. I was expecting the gravy to be thicker. There wasn't any fragrant smell nor any wow factor. It is just plain. There are some shrimp bits inside. This dish is RM19.
The chili intestines was fresh and chewy, lots of big pork lard and lots of dried shrimps. This is the only nice dish among all. Very pricey too. This dish cost a heaping of RM38.
Stirfry Kai Lan Fa, still ok. Taste not bad and abit fragrant. Slightly oily. RM26 was just too much for this. They overcharged this dish.
Hokkien mee/meehoon had no wok hei 😭 it was a total disappointment. Not fragrant, less pork but have pork lard bits.. RM14.
Overall, my dinner was not enjoyable. Some food were overcharged, and do not taste well. The chef was seen rushing to come out to use phone for a few times... it's like he did not cook with his heart. 没用心煮哪里会好吃? definitely won't...
Read moreSaw the good reviews from Google maps and hence we came here to try.
We refer some pictures here and we ordered the famous butter soup lou su fen, fried kai lan, and beer chicken. Then we saw quite many tables ordered the vegetables with three types of eggs, so we ordered it as well 🤣
The lou su fen is the most special, as you can't have it anywhere, it taste like curry but with milk with some small "hei bi" and small chewy "sotong" (I think), make u feel like want to eat more, but it's easy to feel full also.
Fried kai lan is taste like seaweed, fried with small "hei bi" make it feel nice. The vegetables with three types of eggs also nice for someone who are looking for healthy food ☺️
Beer chicken will be sweet for someone who don't like to take sweet foods (like me), it's sweet like "ma mi".
I saw they have some packed food for lou shu Fen and some of their famous dishes, it's allow you to buy and heat it yourself.
Price is reasonable, we ordered four and it's just cost us RM100+
Definitely will come...
