Unless you’re spending money here, don’t expect friendly service. A little back story of review. I need to get my FM2 fixed so called and asked before heading to the store. The person said they need to let their technicians assess the damage first. Fair enough. I proceeded to ask if their technicians fixed FILM CAMERAS IN GENERAL, as in do they have the means of fixing them and have they fixed them before. To which, I got this lansi reply, “Eh, brader, i say already! Let our technician see first”. Before I could say anything else, the person hung up the phone. Fine. Maybe he was having a bad day so shrugged it off and made my 40min journey there from Damansara. Which was a big waste of time. Why? Continue on reading. Got there, headed to the main store and enquired. Again, before I could finish explaining to a staff (same person on the phone I believe), he cut and brushed me off telling me to head upstairs to technician counter. Without wasting my time with that fella, I went up. Even saying thank you to the him for “pointing” out the directions. Went up, buzzed the door, was let in and within a minute of explaining, the technician said, “Oh, your shutter spoil. Cannot fix. Old parts.” I looked at him with a thank-you-Captain-Obvious-look and asked, “But do you FIX FILM CAMERAS here?”. Guess what? THEY DON’T. “We just service only”, he continued and when I asked what services do you provide for film cameras they replied, “we clean them only”. Cool story bro, thanks for nothing YL Camera KL. Utterly disappointing experience and I personally would never go to this branch again. PJ is way better. Why didn’t I go there? They don’t service equipment apparently. Read moreBasically there are 2 store under YL here in lowyat, and what i can say from my experience is that, if you’re considering to buy anything from them, please go for their Ground floor shop rather than UG floor cuz the staff attitude is so different.
I first went up to UG floor store to ask for the camera price, when i step into the store there are 3 staff sitting there with their laptop, they don’t even bother to see if i need any assistance from them, and when i ask question, 3 of them completely just ignored me like i doesn’t exist ??? Then i stand there and ask again, and one of them ask me what i want to ask… 🤦🏿♀️ ok fine omfg, then i was told the camera i want have no stock at that time, and i asked the staff when would the new stock possibly be coming in, he just told me he dk.. ok fine
Luckily i saw another YL store in G floor when I’m almost leaving lowyat (cuz i checked lowyat plaza website it only shows it has shop at UG floor) then i ask the staff there - Ms Janet, she is the one who I approached and she is very helpful, totally different from the staff upstairs omfg. I ask her the same question regarding the price and stock availability, she gave me a better price but also it’s out of stock at that time but then she told me when i could possibly get the camera i want, and leave my name n phone number with her so that she can call me when the stock arrives since they only get a few unit every 2 weeks.
Then after few days i went back at the day she told me the stock would arrive, and she explained everything I need to know on using the camera, giving all necessary advice and recommendations.
I definitely recommend you guys to look for her to assist you, never ever go up to the UG store...
Read moreIf I could give 0 or -0 star, I would. Two months ago, I sent my lens to get fungus cleaning service. What came back was a malfunctioned lens, problems that were never ever there before sending it for service to YL Camera Pudu Plaza. When I reached out to them, it's either silence or excuses for the problems. After contacting their FB messenger, the person in charge got back to me and I had to send this lens back for check up and fix, which took a few weeks due to CNY time period. A lot of confusion and stress over the repair cost to be paid by who, in the end, they paid for it as they should.
A very disappointing experience and heartbroken to have sent my lens to them for a simple task. Please send your items to the rightful brand for servicing, no matter how small the service you need. Their service rate isn't fair either, it's pretty much the same rate as big brand rates for fungus cleaning, only found this out much later. Lots of regrets and will never come back to this place (especially when it's so so far, unsafe and parking is either terrible or expensive to pay for), and I do not recommend...
