Trikora by Roofdeck — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Me and my family are celebrating my cousin birthday, with more than 10 people and booking. We came at 6 and ordered around 6:40 where there weren't as many people. Mine came fast but my cousin who's the birthday girl couldn't get to eat her Australian lamb shoulder, because 1 the waiter forgot which we were fine with as human makes mistake, but we repeatedly ask when the lamb shoulder is ready but no resuming responds. After 2 hours, we were notified that they would start cooking but few moments later. We were told if we would like to cancel. Disappointed, we couldn't bother to wait any moment later. We celebrated my cousin birthday.

The food was average for a bar, but really expected the service to be quicker. The place we were seated at have an amazing view but I recomend coming , minutes before dawn or after as it is quite hot. At night however, there is insufficient lighting. There is also a side show that accidentally sang a birthday song which contributed to the atmosphere.

At the end of the day, I can only recommend this place for quick bite and taste numbing experience.

Recently, I went to "Tricora by Roofdeck" located on the top of Wisma IAV. (Note: You have to take the fire exit to reach the rooftop.)

Here are my unfiltered thoughts of the place for future visitors.

Environment: 9/10 Main highlight of the place. Unobstructed view of the highest towers in KL. Beautiful lights can be seen when visiting at night.🗼

View is further complimented by dim lighting, music 🎵, and wooden decor. There are indoor and outdoor sittings.

Pets are also allowed! Saw many people bringing their cute pups. 🐾

Food: 7/10 Honestly, I overlooked the food a little as I was vibing with friends and taking in the fantastic view. However, I can confidently say that the food was at least hot and fresh. 🔥

Even if not for the food, I could see myself just taking in the view for a few hours while sipping on drinks.

Restroom: 7/10 They had mouthwash and dental floss available in the restrooms. Couldn't speak for the women's room but I would assume the same or better. Decent hygiene for a place with the volume of people that visited. 🫧

The location is a bit secluded and quite hard to find. You’ll need to enter the building, take an elevator, then go up a staircase to finally reach the rooftop. That said, the view is quite nice and it’s very breezy — a pet-friendly spot too.

As for the food, it’s just okay. Mostly fried items, with prices averaging around RM30–40 per plate. Here’s what we ordered: • Salted Egg Soft Shell Crab Pasta: Rich and heavy, but the salted egg flavor was not prominent. Tasted like it wasn’t made with fresh salted egg yolk. • Tandoori Chicken Pizza: Pretty good — worth a try. • Snack Plate: Just a platter of frozen fried items (nuggets, onion rings, chicken skin). Not really worth it unless you’re having it with drinks. • Chicken with Mashed Potatoes: Decent, though the chicken breast was a bit dry and overcooked. • Caesar Salad: Average. Portion could be larger considering the price — lettuce isn’t exactly expensive. • Mushroom Soup: Tasted like canned or instant soup.

We spent RM298 for four people. Overall, quite pricey for the quality. It’s more about the ambiance and view...
