MAYHIAN SEAFOOD RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Langkawi Island

Owner was not honest. Took our order when we first arrive but didn't tell us there was no chef. When we asked about the food after waiting for 40min, then only the staff told us the truth. But she said they were "working" on it. Finally after 60+ min, salted egg cuttlefish was served but overcooked with burned smell. We asked to return and cancel the dish. Immediately. Then the rest of the dished were serve with equally bad taste. We finished with a few bite and asked for bill. The owner handed us a "corrected bill" seems to deducted the cancelled dish but actually increased the price of another dish. We didn't realised it until we left the restaurant. In the spirit of supporting local restaurant (after coming across many of the Chinese restaurant on the island did not made it through the long absence of tourist). The restaurant certainly seen better days, and can feel they been trying very hard to stay afloat, hopefully with the return of the tourist they can go back to the hey days.

Me and my wife were there for dinner, the white promphet fish as recommended was fresh and delicious. Salted egg fried squid was not the best we had but OK.

If you are any where near here in Langkawi, you must stop by (fair warning their curry chicken isn't that hot ) but the food is some of the best I have tried on this island and our server was not only helpful and kind but also funny and insightful (he totally called us out on not using chop stix right 😂).
