On a this cloudy Friday mid-morning as the city of Melaka awoke to the gentle hustle of daily life, my wife had an appointment with her optician in the heart of downtown before noon. We found a spot for our car, a mere 300 yards from her destination. With time to spare, I embarked on a leisurely stroll along the shoplots’ walkway, where fate led me to a delightful encounter with Italy Bakery’s charming outpost.
This beloved bakery, nestled within the vibrant streets of Melaka Raya at 590 Jln Merdeka, is a haven of warmth and comfort. Its cozy in-house cafe, with just enough seating to feel intimate, invites patrons to relax and savor the moment. Drawn in by the allure of fresh pastries, I couldn’t resist the famed Portuguese tarts, known to vanish before the noonday sun reaches its zenith.
Oh, what a treat it was! The tarts, bold and unapologetic in their creamy sweetness, boasted tops caramelized to perfection, a dance of flavors that delighted the senses. Their crust, a masterpiece of texture, was fluffy yet crumbly, adorned in a rich hue of darker brown—a testament to the artisanal skill that crafted them.
In this little corner of Melaka, Italy Bakery stands as a testament to culinary artistry, where each bite tells a story of tradition and passion. A visit here is not just a treat; it’s an experience, a memory etched in the heart of every food lover who walks through its doors.
So, if you find yourself wandering the streets of Melaka Raya, let your curiosity guide you to this gem. Who knows what delicious...
Read moreMy family and I have an bad experience at this melaka raya branch of Italy bakery. There were two malays and one chinese there when we visited. Two Malay staffs were busy with their talking and mobile phones. One Chinese ( short hair middle aged woman)was standing at the counter. We wanted to buy the Tart but no one entertained and served us. We decided to pick the tart ourselves. When we want to wrap up the tart into the transparent small plastic , the edge of plastic tear in half so we changed the plastic at the counter. The Chinese women (short hair middle aged) who standing at counter voiced up in an unfriendly tone : " The plastic still can use even its broke!" Once we packed the tart we proceed to the counter .One of the Malay staff(thin size with black mask on) came and rearrange the tart and threw away the tray loudly infront of us. Then acting rudely and starred at us fiercely. After payment another malay staff ( big size with spectacle on ) threw the receipt directly on table . Really bad attitude especially the Two Malay staffs and the Chinese short hair woman. Very terrible experience , hope management please look into it as serious issue as it is affecting your business quality. Would never visit again and would not recommend to any friends...

The mostly in-house baked selection of breads and pastries ensure optimum freshness which is becoming increasingly rare among the other bakeries that are mostly franchised outlets more often than not. There's also a small café section that serves decent coffee which you can order to go with your choice of pastries within. All in all, it's an enjoyable jaunt within hunting out your bread, cake or pastry of choice, all at very...
