Nings Hailam Noodles is a delightful spot that offers a variety of dishes with unique flavors. Here’s what we tried during our visit:

Beef Noodle Soup: This was the highlight of our meal. The beef was incredibly tender, with a soft texture that could easily be separated with a chopstick. The soup was well-balanced, neither too salty nor too sweet—just perfect!

Hainam Style Chicken Rice: The chicken was prepared with minimal flour coating, offering a light crispiness paired with a flavorful sauce that was slightly sour and sweet, making it very appetizing. It was served with half a boiled egg, adding a nice touch to the dish.

Hainam Style Pork Noodle (dry version) : the gravy leaned slightly toward the sweet and salty side, which my children absolutely loved. My 4 years old managed to finish an entire portion! However, the fried pork’s coating, made from smashed bread remnants, was too dry for my liking. It wasn’t my personal favorite.

The kaya butter toast could be improved by being more generous with the butter to ensure better coverage, as the current portion felt a little stingy. On the other hand, the kaya cheese toast was a pleasant surprise, utilizing mozzarella cheese. We loved the satisfying "cheese pull" effect, reminiscent of pizza!

Coffee: The coffee was excellent—rich and flavorful. A wonderful addition to the meal.

The total bill was RM32 for 2 adult and a 4years old kid, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that one coffee was complimentary with the order.

Overall, a satisfying dining experience with a few minor areas for improvement. We’d happily...

My go-to spot for a drink. Always the same choice—Honey Sour Plum. This round, I had it cold. . Still consistent. No cost-cutting. Just that familiar, satisfying taste. . As usual, I stretched it with a glass of water—prolonging the enjoyment. . Return? Needless to say. Next time, maybe I’ll try their chop and noodles too. Recommend? Of course. . . Follow for honest finds that keep it real. JSE@20250822 . Dropped by Ning’s Hainam Noodle for the first time—not for a full meal, but just to grab a drink. . No fancy decor, no over-the-top theme. Just a humble, cozy Hainanese spot. . I was thirsty, so I went for their sour plum honey lemon with tangerine peel— and wow, I didn’t expect it to be this good. . Refreshing. Balanced. And the addition of tangerine peel, a powerhouse in Chinese herbal culture, not only adds depth to the flavor but also helps regulate Qi and strengthen the spleen. . Tell me, how can you not fall in love with that? . Also tried the kaya butter toast—crispy on the outside, with half-melted butter melting into the kaya.

That texture? Perfect. A heavenly combo. . Oh, and one small but thoughtful gesture worth noting: I kept asking for water refills (was really thirsty), and the owner only charged me for one glass. That kind of kindness stays with you. . Will I be back? For sure. Will I recommend to friends? Let me try the food first—then we’ll talk....

Their original kopitiam has been operating in Alor Gajah for more than 80 years! Impressive. Food is actually quite yummy and decent! Ordered dry beef spicy noodles, albeit it is not as umami as the authentic Taiwanese style beef noodles, but the soup is still somewhat fragrant, but it's hella spicy, beware when you tell boss the spiciness rating you want! Portion is quite small, suitable if you have tiny appetite just nice for me. They give only 3 pieces of beef which is very measly and little 😭 but the meat is so tender and soft, literally melts in your mouth kind. I'd try the soup version next time. Herbal chicken meesua is good, the soup is very homely and sweet from the chicken stock, not very herby herby kind, it's more on the chicken soup side. Chicken meat is so soft and tender it literally drops off the bone! 😍 Braised pork lotus leaf bun nothing special, I feel those dinner banquet ones are better as I like my 扣肉 to be fat, but theirs is all lean meat, which is my mom's favourite, she likes it. We tapaoed their famous chicken chop, is those traditional Hainanese kind. Served with corn and potato wedges but wedges only got two pieces haha. It's crispy and nice when served hot! 😍 Definitely will come back again, but they're severely understaffed so it takes time to clean table, take order and serve. You definitely wil wanna avoid coming...
