Aro Restaurant, nestled in the heart of Ipoh at NO. 134, Ground Floor, Jalan Sultan Yussof, 30000 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, is a culinary gem that has swiftly become a favorite among both locals and visitors. Specializing in authentic South Indian cuisine, this establishment offers a dining experience that is both delightful and memorable. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance, complemented by attentive and friendly staff who are eager to enhance your dining experience. The menu boasts a variety of traditional South Indian dishes, each prepared with meticulous attention to detail and bursting with authentic flavors. A standout favorite among patrons is the veg thali set, a harmonious assortment of dishes that provides a comprehensive taste of South Indian cuisine. The paal appam, served with concentrated coconut milk, is another must-try, offering a delicate balance of texture and sweetness that leaves a lasting impression. For those seeking a heartier option, the weekend special ghee rice, often accompanied by their rendition of rendang chicken, comes highly recommended. Beverage selections such as the rich mango lassi and aromatic masala tea perfectly complement the meal, enhancing the overall dining experience. The restaurant's commitment to quality is evident not only in its cuisine but also in its reasonable pricing, making it an excellent choice for those seeking value without compromising on taste. It's worth noting that Aro Restaurant is a family-run establishment, which adds to its charm and personalized service. The dedication of the staff to providing an exceptional dining experience is palpable, with many patrons noting their attentiveness and willingness to accommodate special requests. Given its popularity, especially during peak hours, it's advisable to plan your visit accordingly. The restaurant operates on the following schedule: Sunday: 8:00 AM–9:30 PM Monday & Tuesday: Closed Wednesday to Friday: 11:00 AM–9:30 PM Saturday: 8:00 AM–9:30 PM In conclusion, Aro Restaurant offers an authentic and satisfying South Indian dining experience in Ipoh. Its combination of delectable cuisine, welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service makes it a must-visit for anyone seeking to indulge in the rich flavors of South India.

I recently visited Aro Restaurant around 3 PM for a late lunch. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by an uncle who provided great service, explaining the menu thoroughly and taking our orders efficiently. We ordered two meals along with a side of Gobi Manchurian (vegan). The food itself was fine, but we couldn’t finish everything. When I asked a lady (who I believe might be the manager or director) to pack the leftover Gobi Manchurian for takeaway, her response was both surprising and disappointing. She mentioned that they don’t bring food back to the kitchen to pack leftovers and handed me a small burger box and a plastic bag, expecting us to pack the food ourselves. I found this approach unprofessional and felt it lacked basic customer service. As a paying customer, I believe it’s reasonable to expect assistance with packing leftovers, especially in a dine-in setting. Her tone and attitude didn’t help the situation either, leaving a sour impression. While the initial service was pleasant, this incident overshadowed our experience. It’s a shame, as small gestures of hospitality can make a big difference in maintaining a restaurant’s reputation. I hope the management takes this feedback constructively to improve their service standards.

WOW!! ❤️🫰🏻During our second visit to Ipoh, my family and I stumbled upon Aro Restaurant, and what a delightful discovery it was! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with a warm ambiance and friendly staff, despite the bustling crowd. The menu boasted an array of tantalizing dishes, but it was the thali meals that stole the show, each complemented by a variety of delectable sides. I must say, the paal appam was a revelation - perhaps the best I've ever tasted! And let's not forget the kids' favorite, the Nutella Thosai, which had them beaming from ear to ear. Washed down with refreshing drinks like Nannari Sarbath and cow milk, every sip was a burst of flavor. Aro Restaurant not only excelled in culinary delights but also in impeccable service. Despite the hectic pace, the staff remained attentive and courteous throughout our meal. It's evident that they take great pride in ensuring every guest leaves with a smile. Without a doubt, this was one of the culinary highlights of our trip to Malaysia. For anyone visiting Ipoh, I wholeheartedly recommend Aro Restaurant for an unforgettable dining experience. Kudos to the entire team for a job well done!

The owner of this place is very rude to customers and doesn’t have any empathy nor patience towards kids and babies. They blamed kids for something that they never did and snatched menu from us while we were looking through the menu to order food, which was very rude. They were arguing rudely and shouting till we leave the place. Hope in the future they can correct their ill-mannered attitude towards customers and be more polite.

Thanks for the quick reply. However, that’s not going to be found in the cctv. I wish the so called cctv footage that they speak about can be uploaded so that the public can know what kind of people they are actually. Maybe their creative imagination could have interfered the scenario that really occurred. Maybe sugar coating with nice words can help to potray a side which never happened but the service that they provide can be proved from the reviews and the way they reply to those reviews proves again that they’re utterly poor in accepting their faults and criticisms. I don’t understand why they had to check the cctv as though they don’t know what happened because the one who behaved in such way to us was the owner itself and not the staff. They are very well aware of what happened and didn’t had to clarify anything unless they wanted to sugar coat the whole scenario that they created. As for the asst manager MATTHEW ( the owner’s son), he didn’t calm the situation instead he was the culprit who escalated the whole situation even after we left the restaurant. Paid reviews can’t save your extremely poor services for long. Anyways god bless and hope the customers to be more aware of such restaurants.

I think I don’t need to make myself clear again as there are several lowest reviews which went through similar incident as we did. Despite those paid reviews, those lowest review that are genuine from the customers reflects how bad is the behaviour of the staffs and the owner itself as it might be our first time encountering but not their first time in treating their customers rudely. As for those who might be reading this, kindly refer to those lowest reviews and note the way they reply to those reviews which can clearly show what kind of people they are. Thank you and wishing all a very happy...

We have experienced this twice,as we always go Ipoh and we found this restaurant food in the starting was extremely good..so whenever we go Ipoh,we will only go to this restaurant no where else…

As times passed, this restaurant become very picky such as I have not ordered the particular item but it the system shows it has plus that item was not even on my table, yet the owner was on their stands and keep saying it should have and why don’t you go and see..To me by right, the owner should go and check on the table, where it was only 3 of us dine in.and again I was saying no but she was on her stands again n again. Finally when we told her again called the person who took the order, then she realise it was wrong keyin. And there was no sorry being said too

2nd experience that we had,if it’s a limited seating place they should inform that this restaurant can’t carry out any meetings, yesterday we was eating and once we were done actually we was waiting for a person to come since we have documents to be signed…they literally came and ask when are u all will be leaving we have another customer, actually I saw by myself there were still empty tables, and the person we was waiting also arrived. But since it was a important document for me,I had no choice but to ask them to wait and I get my documents signed first…

All the while ,everything was fine…I just felt that the moment crowd starting to flow food changes and the services and behaviour...
