Took my wife here for a Valentine's dinner date.

It was Saturday and we arrived here around 8:05pm. Securing a parking spot outside of the restaurant was super duper easy.

Upon arrival, we observed that the restaurant was mostly empty. There were severe patrons dining at the time but we were not complaining because the lack of crowd makes it a peaceful place to have dinner. Did I mention that the restaurant was well maintained and spacious?

Placing an order required us to access their online ordering system via scanning the QR code displayed on the table. They have a good variety of dishes, ranging from mains to desserts to drinks. However, it bugged us to know that we had to pay for our meals before the kitchen could proceed with our orders and their payment system was not speedy despite using credit card (they have alternative payment methods such as GrabPay and TnG Wallet). So, you can imagine how many times we had to go through this process when we placed 3 separate orders.

But once we gone past that stage, we were surprised at the speed at which they served our food. I think it was no more than 5 mins and voila, the first dish was already out. We ordered Warhol Soup, Sour Cream & Onion Fries, Peri-Peri Power, Ice Ice Chocolate, and a slice of Salted Caramel Macadamia Cheesecake.

The dishes were nice to our taste buds. I particularly love their Ice Ice Chocolate, Warhol Soup and their Peri-Peri Power. The dessert was kind of average. Price-wise, it's a bit steep. You can get a bang out of your bucks but don't expect it to be a big one.

Would I come back here again? Absolutely. Delicious offerings, comfy atmosphere, great staff service. Would I recommend you to come here first before trying other F&B stores within the area? Probably not because this is neither a moderately-priced or the best bargain...

Ipoh is actually quite a unique place on its own, which I think most will agree with. It's quite diverse in terms of its food offerings. And with it, comes an abundance of hipster cafes swarming the town.

After what felt like an eternity and haggling with my own stomach, we went ahead and ordered Kam Heong Pasta, Buttermilk Pasta with Sambal Kerang, and Ice Ice Chocolate for my drink. Looking at the prices on the menu, oh boy. It is very, very steep even if you compare it to other cafes.

Honestly, I was ready to rant about the food quality considering the price. But it turns out, it's quite good. The Asian-Western fusion actually works well, unlike some other fusion foods. The Kam Heong taste is not too overwhelming on the pasta, yet it is seasoned well. And the Buttermilk Carbonara is very delicious too, especially with that Sambal Kerang that is the perfect addition. It's not really crazy for me to say that these are some of the best fusion Asian-Western fusion foods I've tasted in my life.

The Ice Ice Chocolate meanwhile is pretty standard. Nothing special. The ambience of the place is okay. Pretty standard. I mean there were not that many people occupying the tables when we were eating. But that's probably because we went on weekdays. I expect it to be at least half full come weekend.

It's definitely more of a hangout-with-your-friends or dinner-for-two type of place, rather than it's a family meetings sorta place. Although I have to say that it's pretty quiet. But hard to gauge when the place is this empty.

In conclusion, it's a good cafe with good Asian-Western...

Plan B Restaurant | Ipoh

Plan B in Ipoh is honestly such a vibe ✨. The moment you walk in, you’ll notice how aesthetic the place is — modern and stylish interiors blending so well with the classic charm of its surroundings 😍. Definitely a spot where you’d want to sit, chill and snap a few photos 📸.

Food-wise, I was pleasantly surprised! Everything tasted really good — flavourful, filling, and satisfying 🤤🍴. Even when I was already full, I still kept eating because it was that delicious haha. Their drinks were refreshing too 🍹, just right for a hot day in Ipoh.

One little note to the management 🙌: it would be nice if the menu given to customers matched the right time slots. I got the lunch menu even though it was still breakfast, so maybe it’s better to use the app/digital menu instead since breakfast and lunch options are different. Not a huge issue though — just remember that if you want the full menu, come after 11AM onwards 😉.

The overall experience here was super comfortable 🌿. Plan B is the kind of place you’d go to if you want to eat in a relaxed and cozy environment — whether with friends, family, or even solo.

Service deserves a big thumbs up 👍💛. The staff are friendly, attentive, and quick to clear your table once you’re done eating (except your drinks), so you can still sit around and enjoy your time comfortably.

All in all, Plan B Ipoh isn’t just about food, it’s about the whole atmosphere too 💫. Great food, cozy vibes, and lovely service — definitely worth a visit when you’re in...
