Location & Atmosphere (Vibe) ⢠Chloe.co is located at 55, Jalan Market, Ipoh Old Town, right in the heart of the heritage area near Concubine Lane. ⢠The cafĂŠ is housed in a refurbished heritage building with a European-vintage bistro vibe â dark wood, warm lighting, spacious layout, and plenty of natural light. ⢠The vibe is what many people love: calm, chic, and cozy. Perfect for hanging out with friends, enjoying a quiet coffee, or even doing light work. ⢠The downside: it can get very crowded during peak hours, and parking in Old Town can be a challenge.

Food & Drinks
Whatâs great: ⢠Pastries and desserts are the main highlight: croissants (butter, almond, flavored), danishes, canelĂŠs, berliners, and more. ⢠Specialties like the peach strudel, strawberry strudel, and fruit tarts are favorites for many. ⢠They also serve savory and fusion dishes like the Crowich (croissant sandwich), smoked duck pasta, and truffle mushroom soup. ⢠Coffee and specialty drinks are well-crafted and enjoyable.
What could be improved: ⢠Some desserts look amazing for Instagram, but not all live up to the taste expectations. For example, the peach strudel has been described as a bit too hard, and the tiramisu presentation (served in a plastic container) didnât impress some visitors. ⢠Prices are on the higher side, especially for pastries and desserts, so donât expect Ipohâs typical âvalue for moneyâ experience here. ⢠Service can be inconsistent â some days friendly and efficient, other times less attentive when the cafĂŠ is packed.

Overall Impression
Chloe.co is definitely a worthwhile cafÊ to visit if you love: ⢠beautiful interiors and cozy vibes, ⢠aesthetically pleasing, Instagram-worthy pastries, ⢠and a place to relax over good coffee.
Itâs not necessarily the âbest bang for your buckâ spot in Ipoh, but it does shine in terms of ambience, style, and cafĂŠ experience. If youâre in Old Town and want somewhere stylish to sit down and unwind, Chloe.co is...
Read moreChloĂŠ.Co in Ipoh is a lovely and stylish bakery cafĂŠ that has clearly made a name for itself â when we arrived, it was already nearly full house, and people just kept walking in, many opting for takeaway. The space is cozy yet modern, with soft lighting and minimalistic decor that feels welcoming and calm.
We came for the pastries, and they definitely lived up to the buzz. The Kouign Amann was a standout â beautifully caramelised, with crisp golden layers and a buttery aroma that hits you as soon as itâs served. It was rich without being too sweet, and every bite had that perfect balance of crunch and chewiness. You can tell itâs made with high-quality ingredients and technique.
The Citron Tart was equally impressive. Light, tangy, and smooth, the lemon filling had a creamy texture that melted in the mouth, and the tart shell was thin and crisp â not too crumbly, just right. It was the kind of dessert that feels refreshing, especially in Malaysiaâs warm weather.
What stood out to me was the crowd â you could see tourists and locals alike queuing up, some taking photos, others walking out with boxes of croissants and tarts. It definitely has that âdestination cafĂŠâ vibe in Ipoh.
Prices here are a little higher than average for Ipoh cafĂŠs, but I believe it reflects the premium ingredients and attention to detail. These arenât mass-produced pastries â each item feels carefully crafted, both in appearance and taste.
Service was friendly despite the busy crowd, and the team behind the counter was patient and helpful when we were choosing what to order. I really appreciated the overall ambiance â itâs not just about the food, but the whole experience.
If you love a good croissant, or youâre on the hunt for quality desserts in Ipoh, ChloĂŠ.Co is definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared to wait a bit during peak hours, or come early to...
Read moreWas visiting this cafe all the way from Penang as this was in our bucketlist for quite sometimes.
We dont usually give bad review about places as we acknowledge & respect the hardwork and efforts of others, but this dining experience really united us to agree upon giving our honest review.
The atmostphere, environment, design of the cafe was at the tip top level, so as the service was just okay.
HOWEVER, the food and drinks that we had, is definitely a disappointment. Not sure how people was bragging about that? đ¤
We have ordered 2 coffees, 3 desserts, and none of it was up to the par for us.
The coffee beans used is with high acidity type, very subjective but not suitable for people whom stomach cant stand for it. Not much comment, be neutral about it. But the cream on the top of the signature coffee was un-meltable, taste like a ball of thick oily cream which made the coffee taste disgusting!
As for the dessert, its with intolerable sweetness (of course dessert should be sweet, but not in this way), whoever think its fine with this kind of sweetness, better check if you have diabetes. đ
Canele was not with the right texture, like a chinese Huat Kuey in the shape of Canele, but taste is okay still. (3/5)
Tiramisu, just left us speechless. It's very local Malaysia style kind of Tiramisu that can be found in Pasar Malam instead. (2/5)
And the worst goes to the Caramel Walnut Tart (0/5). Totally different from how it looks like in the picture which is very attractive, the tart base was rocky-hard instead of crumble, the caramel sauce used taste like it was just pumped from a bottle of caramel syrup instead, and the greasy smell in walnut made it even worse!
We dont usually like to be food wasting, BUT we are so sorry for not able to finishing...
