来怡保老字号「南洲茶铺」吃午餐啦!必点他们家的招牌熊熊白咖啡冰! Having lunch at the famous Nam Chau Kopitiam in Ipoh. Their Iced Bear-Bear White Coffee is really what you're here for.
We made a special trip to the famous Nam Chau Kopitiam in Ipoh, and it completely lived up to its reputation. The place was bustling with energy, filled with the chatter of satisfied customers, which immediately gave us a feel for its authentic charm.
Without a doubt, the star of our meal was the Iced Bear-Bear White Coffee. It was exceptionally smooth and aromatic, with a perfect balance of sweetness and robust coffee flavor—utterly refreshing and lived up to every bit of the hype.
To complement our drinks, we also sampled their curry mee and hor fan. The curry mee was outstanding; the broth was richly spiced and creamy, packed with flavor. The hor fan was equally impressive, stir-fried to perfection with a distinct and satisfying "wok hei" aroma.
Overall, our lunch was a fantastic experience. The quality of the food and drinks, combined with the vibrant atmosphere and great value, makes Nam Chau Kopitiam an absolute must-visit in Ipoh. I would highly recommend it to anyone and will certainly be returning on...
Read moreWe chose Nam Chau old town to meet up with friends from other states. The atmosphere was fine and we were able to talk without having to shout! However the greatest disappointment was its signature dish @ curry noodle. The curry noodle used to be thick and very tasty. People would have had to wait for tables. When the waiter served the curry noidle, my friend uttered why the soup looked so watwry?!!! Indeed it was like being added hot water to the soup. I told this to the aunty sitting at the cashier counter. She said she would ask the kitchen staff. Then she came back with a small bowl of the curry soup. She was very defensive saying that I ordered less spicy hence the watered down soup! I wasnt born yesterday! The standard has dropped so badly. There are many other eateries in Ipoh that one can go for a decent bowl of curry noodle. Not recomnended for its...
Read moreWhen it is dry curry and when in Ipoh, this is the shop i.e. Nam Chau is located in Ipoh Old Town.
Thus, the shop is often missed by most as it is located at the corner when one makes a turn into the road that leads to Kong Heng and Thean Chun.
We are not a fan of dry curry, but the dry curry from this shop truly captivated our taste buds. It is light yet explodes with umami when entering the mouth. Not very spicy but just enough balance of spiciness, aromatics, and accompanied with a tinge of lime and minty freshness.
We do not know why Chef Wan is here, but Chef Nic seems happy with this shop.
Verdict: Will we return to this shop? Yes, we will as it is easily accessible and the aroma of the dry curry will remind us to be in our food list the next...
