The store had a queue when I arrived, but after a 20-minute wait, I was left disappointed and appalled.
Soup Items: The pieces I selected, such as the tofu, fishballs, meatballs, and vegetables, were very underwhelming and reminded me of any normal yong tau fu store in a mall food court. The pieces I selected and the soup they came in were also not very flavorful and tasted mostly of MSG.
Noodles: I had the dry noodles in dark sauce, which were not terrible but not fantastic either. They didn't feel worth the 20-minute wait.
Fried Items: This horrified me the most because the tongs used to pick the fried items were the same tongs used for the raw fishballs. One would expect the fried items to be refried before serving, but that was not the case. What arrived on the table was a cold plate of fried food that had definitely been transferred directly from the raw food selection bowl to a serving plate.
Even now, as I write this review while drinking copious amounts of water to quench my MSG-induced thirst, I'm praying that I don't get an upset stomach and miss my...

Liu fun, an institution in Ipoh, gets a basic but brilliant value-for-money iteration here. You'll see these meatballs and noodles everywhere, but what makes Let's Rock so special?
Every component doesn't miss. Soup stock is savoury and flavourful. Noodles are done al-dente. Dry noodle gravy and curry sauce are on point. The meatballs (or liu) cover a great variety of boiled or fried, something for everyone.
Coming together, the taste is sublime. Simple, unpretentious, yet uncompromising. Every bite a great reminder that the most ordinary, most staple of Ipohan breakfasts (or lunch) is this good.
Look at the photo. Look at the colour of the noodles, the gravy. Look at the inviting bowl of meatball soup. They're IMPOSSIBLE to taste bad. And all for less than RM10.
What I like: -simple food but expertly made -drinks are no slouch either -superb value for money
What I don't like: -busy street, hard to find parking -hot during daytime, be...
Read moreHad this when I was a child when they first set up shop outside of their home in Buntong. The fried beancurd roll was served piping hot which goes exquisitely well with the spicy chili sauce. Now back in Ipoh after more than thirty years, I was delighted when I saw that they had expanded their business. I decided to give it a try again and to my utter disappointment it was the worst food I've ever eaten in Ipoh so far. Even the fried beancurd was served cold and had this awful rancid taste. Never again will I patronise this establishment. As an Ipohite, I'm so ashamed to say that our hawker food has deteriorated so badly. Sadly I believe people whom have raved about how fantastic the food tastes are just being...
