We used to eat in this shop whenever we visited Ipoh. The last we ate was before the pandemic. After 2 and half years, we visited the restaurant today and it was a great disappointment. Total we ordered nearly 12 mutton briyani, 2 chicken briyani and 1 fish briyani. They called it DUM BRIYANI but I'm pretty sure that they didn't cook it together (dum). 1st place, all briyani taste the same but it's ok if it's tasty. But the briyani was very dry and tasteless. We asked for curry as it was too dry... the staff gave us mutton curry still horrible then we asked for dhall Curry, hoping atleast it will make taste a bit better but horrible too😪😭.... one of the egg in briyani had a bad smell as though it was rotten, so we told the manager that it tasted very bad. Despite all of us smelling it and saying it smelled so awful, the manager refused to agree and keep denying that it's just an egg taste as though we had never eaten an egg before.😪🤦♀️ Actually in the first place, we never really blame them bcs rotten eggs are not easy to identify especially when it gets boiled but what upsets us is they keep arguing that it taste good despite all of us keep smelling and telling them that it's 100% rotten. So the service is 0, i would say. Overall, we were so disappointed as all of us were very hungry after a long day. We travelled far just to eat their briyani. What a great...
Read more“Extremely disappointed with my experience at Mahraj Kitchen. I ordered paneer biryani (im a vegetarian) and found chicken pieces in it—not just once, but this has happened multiple times! It’s unacceptable for a restaurant to be this careless,i have clearly stated paneer so why are there chicken pieces and it looks like leftovers from people’s plate. It makes me wonder, are these biryani just leftover rice from other customers plate. On top of that, the service was super late, making the whole experience even worse. I ordered for take away and when i came to collect my food they told me the Food Panda guy took it and i had to wait another 30 minutes. Waiting is not an issue if the food we received was what we ordered. Improve your service lah, i mean the food is not free right. I know this sounds really rude but come on lah. Its like you don’t care about the customers or basic attention to orders. I really need a clarification on the chicken pieces in my paneer biryani. Was it a mistake or...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to Mahraj Kitchen in Ipoh, I had the pleasure of indulging in their Chicken Biryani and Paneer Butter Masala, both of which were exceptional. The Chicken Biryani was a flavorful delight, with tender pieces of chicken infused with aromatic spices and perfectly cooked basmati rice. The Paneer Butter Masala featured soft, homemade paneer cubes enveloped in a rich, creamy tomato-based gravy that was both comforting and indulgent.
The restaurant’s ambiance added to the dining experience, offering a serene and beautifully decorated environment that transported me to India. The attentive and friendly staff further enhanced the meal, providing prompt service and insightful recommendations.
In my experience, the quality and authenticity of the dishes justified the cost. For those seeking genuine Indian cuisine in Ipoh, Mahraj Kitchen is a must-visit...
