Been here twice, once on an ordinary weekday and another time during the CNY crowd. Here is my two cents.
Value for money Facing the fierce competition from the likes of Sun Yeun Loong and most notably Nam Heong that have their edge in terms of reputation, Yinzo coffee shop really is incomparable to those behemoths. However, don't let this fool you. Though the food and beverages might be on the pricier spectrum, but given the air conditioned environment and vintage decor, it really evens out the comparison and is a better alternative for a more comfortable dining experiece. As a matter of fact, the food prices at its surrounding coffee eateries have soared quite a lot too, making Yinzo a better propostion of late.
Environment During weekdays and non peak hours, Yinzo Kopi offers a serene retreat from the rowdy crowds and the scorching sun outside. As a reviewer mentioned, it is "an oasis of calm".
Comapared to the other coffee shops that mindlessly ride on the "hipster trend", this coffee shop cleverly blends in elements of heritage in its decor. Taking full advantage of its location at Tin Ore Street (Jln. Bijeh Timah), it subtlely introduce elements that are related to tin mining, seamlessly weaving the storytelling part into the ambience.
Food The selection of food is insanely huge. From shredded chicken flat noodles to curry noodles, from nasi lemak to hainan chicken, from kaya butter taosts to kaya glutinous rice, you name it they got it. But this dizzying array of food comes at the cost of longer waiting times, up to 30 minutes during non peak hours. Worry not the food is really up-to-standard, comparable to those of Nam Heong. And the best among the so called hipster coffee shops.
Rush hours It is chaotic. Not only is the endless wait, but also the cantenkerous crowd. If you time to spare, well still recommended as they are systematic enough. But brace yourself for deteriorated food portion and quality. You've...

Read moreMy family from Singapore was in Ipoh for a night... first unimpressive on the front but entered a most pleasant and air-conditioned shop. The place was very clean and everything in place. Food was above average but satisfying. Service was attentive. The toilets were clean and dry with unique wash basins :) and toilet paper readily available. The staff were young and talked in hush voices. 84RM for 3 adults and 4 children. Thumbs up and 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
UPDATE: 10 JULY 2024
Went back for lunch with our 2 other friends. That's our 5th time in 5 years (once annually) So happy to be back to enjoy the hospitality and friendliness of everyone there. The food never failed us. It's so delicious and most affordable. The chicken rice there, in my opinion, actually beats another more famous and popular one . . The boss, Mr Oh, came over to talk to us for quite a while. Thank you boss and everyone at Yinzo. Coming back again...
