Located conveniently within a short distance to a number of established restaurants and baked goods establishments, Douba is a nice addition to the area. Worked out quite well as a teatime spot for me after experiencing the Ipoh heat around the area when I went from shop to shop to check out the baked goodies.
Highlights: The dining area is sufficiently cooling with the AC running. Definitely a much welcomed relief to the Ipoh afternoon heat. It was quiet during the late afternoon as there were at most another table or two filled at the time I was there. They have onsite toilets that are clean and well kept. Orders are placed at the entrance and paid subsequently. When the dessert is ready, there is a pickup window. I chose the peach gum with snow birds nest as I wanted something light and refreshing. Although pre-made and pre-packed, the dessert was exactly what I needed to rehydrate from the heat. It had a pleasant taste and far from being diluted. In fact, better than a number of other places I have had something similar to this before. This place is also kid friendly as they have high chairs available. Staff were polite and pleasant to interact with.
I have heard they specialise in other desserts and will need to try them when I am...
Read moreI just have to say — Ipoh Bean Bar really surprised me! Their tau fu fa is incredibly smooth and silky, honestly way better than the one from Qifeng Ipoh Tau Fu Fa next door. We even tried Qifeng’s right away in the car, but it wasn’t smooth at all.
At Ipoh Bean Bar, the tau fu fa just slides down so easily — so soft, so light, and not too sweet. You can really taste the quality. Plus, they serve it in real glass bowls, not plastic ones, which makes it feel so much nicer and more hygienic.
Their mochi is also super good — soft, chewy, and freshly made! For the price, I think it’s really worth every cent — totally value for money.
The place itself is also lovely — clean, cozy, with a relaxing atmosphere, and even the toilet is clean and well-maintained. I brought my grandma along, and she loved it too! When even grandma says it’s good, you know it’s really something special!
I’m not new here — this isn’t my first visit to Ipoh Bean Bar, and honestly, they...
Read moreI went around 9pm and some of the ingredients are out of stock already. Hence, I highly suggests to come earlier.
The taufufah I ordered has pandan taufufah with 4 pieces of longan, guai ling gou jelly, 4 taro balls, 2 pumpkin balls, 7 glutinous balls, all for RM13.90. The mochi was sold out, had to try it next time.
The taufufah was smooth and well-sweetened. It was veryyy good! I love it and would definitely come again! I gave 4 stars just because of the service. I was standing at the counter for awhile. They designated a person to handle the cashier. But, the person was busy. If either of them are free, why not take the orders at...
