Ipoh has always been a foodie haven, and I recently stumbled upon a real gem that deserves to be shouted about: The Nation Eatery. I popped in for a late lunch and was blown away by the innovative menu and the explosion of flavors. I decided to try their Nasi Kerabu Fusion, or as it's called on the menu, the "Blue Breeze." Let me tell you, it was absolutely divine. I've had my fair share of nasi kerabu, but this was hands-down the best fusion version I've ever tasted.

The rice itself was a vibrant blue, naturally colored using butterfly-pea flowers, turmeric, and a medley of herbs. It was clear from the first bite that there were no artificial colors or flavorings – just pure, authentic goodness. The dish came with marinated tiger prawns and chicken masala, both of which were incredibly flavorful. I later learned from the head chef that the meats are marinated in nine different herbs, freshly prepared for each order. You could taste the freshness and the care that went into the preparation. The prawns were succulent, and the chicken was tender and packed a flavorful punch.

The entire menu was bursting with creative dishes that showcased local flavors in exciting new ways. It's clear that the chef has a real passion for food and a talent for combining ingredients in unexpected and delicious ways. To quench my thirst on a hot Ipoh afternoon, I ordered the Grapefruit Orange Soda. It was incredibly refreshing and tasted completely homemade, the perfect complement to the rich flavors of the Nasi Kerabu.

The Nation Eatery is a true find. It's the kind of place that deserves to be packed every day & night. If you're in Ipoh and looking for a truly memorable dining experience, this place is a must-visit. It's no longer a hidden gem – it's a star waiting to shine. I’ll definitely...

We had an absolutely wonderful family gathering at The Nation Eatery… a total of 15 of us, and every single person left smiling, full, and satisfied. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance immediately stood out..clean, calming, and filled with beautiful touches like glass jars of live plants that gave the place a fresh and aesthetic vibe. It was the perfect spot for a family get-together .. spacious enough for large groups, yet still cozy and comfortable.

Now let’s talk about the food .. simply outstanding! The signature nasi lemak was a true showstopper. Fragrant green rice, perfectly crispy chicken, sambal that was just the right balance of spicy and savoury, and that egg on top.. absolutely delicious. Every bite was well thought out and full of flavour.

And the matcha drink? Easily one of the best matchas we’ve ever had ..creamy, earthy, smooth, and served in a beautiful textured glass that made it all the more enjoyable. You can tell they use high-quality matcha, and it’s brewed with care.

We also tried a hearty vegetable curry, packed with vibrant, fresh veggies and a rich, aromatic gravy.. comforting and deeply satisfying.

What truly impressed us was not just the taste but also the presentation and consistency across every dish. Despite having a large group, all meals were served promptly, hot, and without a single hiccup. That says a lot about the efficiency and hospitality of the staff.

Overall, The Nation Eatery exceeded expectations. Whether you’re coming for a solo treat, a date, or a large family gathering..you’ll find great food, a warm atmosphere, and thoughtful service here. Highly...

THE RESTAURANT LOOK NICE BUT FOOD IS NOT!

-Chicken chop is served cold..and my sister said she can smell like old chicken is being used.the black paper sause taste like premade from eco shop.. -The fries portion is too little but at least it taste good and served hot.. -Mushroom soup/garlic bread is not good..the soup is too bland and cold, the garlic bread is just 2 pieces.. A SMALL PIECES!! it is hard like biscuit.. -corn and mashed potatoes from the chicken chop also cold.i do not understand why are the food served cold but it takes like 15-20 waiting..are you cooking it using microwave?or the kitchen have massive aircond that messed up the food? -the blueberry smoothie taste good, the other is just ok..my sister said her mango smoothie taste better than the food and her mango smoothie taste like bazaar ramadhan drink lol…

Spending almost rm200 is not worth it..feels like i got scammed..i know a place that can serve hot and better taste with half of that money..the place is not fancy but at least they have passion to served a better food...

My family and I have our dinner here, and celebrating my birthday, here's my experience: - There's some improvement for the menu compare to the older version shown by other users, its clean and easy to read, but maybe consider adding a short rough explanation about the dish so customers will have some clue on what the dishes is and no need to constantly ask the waiters to explain. - Environment is really good, its chill and quiet, pleasant to stay there. - Food in general is good, our food are not too salty like others said but just right for us, my parents and grandma are able to enjoy their food, and I like the plating too. - Have to mention about the drinks, we enjoy the drinks we chooses (its part of our set meal) - Service are brilliant, waiters are nice, they try to serve us as much as possible to make sure me and my family will have a great experience dining in their restaurant. Thumbs up to them👍🏼
