This time, we went for a "studio"... Trust me. Wasn't a studio. It was a one bedroom apartment that could easily sleep five people. Two queen and a sofa.||You might want to check with the property owner but the sofa looks like a sofa bed.||||Views, fantastic. You get a fine view of Ipoh and the action on the street.||||The one thing that could probably improve on the place might be Astro with a kids channel and a microwave. But with free wifi, not really a big deal.||||There's free parking onsite. Just make sure you pre-register with the front desk. When you book, follow the instructions they provide and you'll get a smooth check in.||||Recommendations. This place should definitely be an option for families or group of friends. For couples, it's not bad either as the views from level eight is quite breath taking and not a bad place to pop the question.||||Tip: If you're there for the first time, the check in counter is actually on level eight. Carpark for guests, level six. Unlike hotels, they provide the basics... towels, shower gel, shampoo, cutlery and thats it. So if you're after coffee and tea, well.... you're in Ipoh.||||If you've never being to Ipoh before. A few tips:||1) Drive. You're missing out if you don't drive.||2) This place is a foodies paradise. Even if you're vegetarian. Try Fo Guang near Bercham or Home noodles near Aeon.||3) There's a few cave temples with monkeys. You'll need to drive to see them. Don't miss it.||4) Get to know Jalan Iskandar. Not only will it connect you with the major sites, it's a good point to zone in on if you're lost.||5) Bring water. Midday in Ipoh can be brutal||||Staff does a fantastic job. Octagon is great for the space and location it provides. We got an apartment which came with 2 bigs beds and a sofa bed which was perfect for my family with 3 young kids. The location is another big plus because it is just across the road from some of the most famous eateries in Ipoh. Ipoh moonlight hor fun, chicken rice and beans sprouts, Tau fu fah, baked salted chicken, just to name a few. It is also about 5 to 10 mins walk away from Ipoh Parade , the most modern mall in Ipoh city, although the walk is not the most pleasant. ||Some points to note though. It is not a hotel, so there is no daily housekeeping. We stayed there for 4 nights, so after a while the floor got a bit sticky and we had to reuse the towels. While it is an apartment, they don't have a stove, washing machine or microwave which you might find in other serviced apartments. they do provide bowls, plates, cups and utensils which was very useful when we had takeaway. They do have someone who will come to your room to clear any rubbish, but you will need to notify them. Do note also that the location is not in Ipoh Old Town if that it is important to you. It's about 5 mins drive away. Rm$4 by grab.||Overall, it was an enjoyable stay and at a very reasonable price. I will definitely consider staying there again the next time in...

We stayed for 4 days and our impression was great. The room was clean and the linens also looks well.There are also cutlery, bowls, and plates for guests to use. The best part of it is that they provide a wifi egg for guests to use. We can surf not just inside the room, but can also take it outside for finding our ways.There are rooms for improvement. The hair dryer is mounted on the wall with no mirror and no sitting stool. It will also auto cut-off if the temperature is too high. Imagine a lady with long hair, she will have to stand when drying her hair. However, it will cut off after a while and the hair has not been dried yet. You will have to wait until the dryer has cool down before she can continue to dry her hair. With no sitting provision, the whole process becomes very tiring and frustrating. The heater also not very hot, can only ||say that the water is warm. The toilet has a funny stinky smell, it is not very disgusting. But every time when you walk from the sitting room into the toilet you can feel the difference...
