25 Mar 2025 Hidden gem! Contrary to the famous Funny Mountain and Woong Kee, I personally enjoyed Wan Chee. The friendly owner served quality and silky soft beancurd at reasonable dine jn price-point at RM2 with sugar syrup (plain, brown or ginger) option. You could also ask for toppings at additional cost. I dabao Woong Kee cos I couldn’t stand the pigeons flying around but Wan Chee is so clean and comfortable that we were able to have 2 bowls each. Hope to visit again! Highly recommend to my friends visiting Ipoh!

There are many Tau Fu Fah restaurants lined up along this road. From a traveler's perspective, I went to a store that looked old enough and had many enough customers. I ordered it while thinking of the food Douhua I ate in Taiwan, but it was similar but different from the food I ate in Taiwan. I was very satisfied with the Malaysian tofu dessert, which consists of tofu mixed with sweet syrup, and I especially liked the low price. Less than 1USD. I was satisfied and recommend it to other visitors.

After visiting all the tofu pudding places in the vicinity, i think this is the most authentic and tasty one of all! It doesn't have the astringent taste at all. Legend has it, the boss removed all the soy bean skin and used quality tapioca flour in his beancurd making craft. No wonder the black soy beancurd tasted so smooth and soft! My family and I ordered two bowls each and still couldn't get enough of it. We will be back for more.

This is the first time I feel so accomplished for a spot-on based on reviews as sadly, most reviews are not "real". THIS IS DAMN GOOD STUFF! Will come back again and again and again for this.

Our driver brought us to Woong Kee (normal only) despite me sharing location of Wan Chee and insisted us to try. As I really wanna try Wan Chee, we just got 2 items. And still headed to Wan Chee.

One look, empty and quiet. I was also skeptical. Luckily, we still went for it. I can say is the best without trying Funny Mountain* because it is that good. We went back on last day, but was closed on Thursday. 😭

Do not bother to try others. Wan Chee deserves all the credits. The boss really knows his beans. Quality stuff down to the brown sugar syrup. No nice settings, just a sincere establishment. 👏

*Driver again insisted to bring us to Funny Mountain (normal only) on last day as Wan Chee was closed. But I was already sold on that first mouth and knew this is my number 1. Do not...

My family and I wanted to go to the popular Funny Mountain Beancurd but somehow not able to locate it. Either it was closed or we missed it.

Somehow while we were driving around, we chanced up this place. To our surprise, it was pleasantly good.

Beancurd was smooth like silk that goes onto your mouth and down right to your throat. You are able to customize the type of syrup - ginger, brown sugar or regular or even have toppings added.

Come down to try this with no regrets. Mother and son owned this place and are...
