Once in a while I will be out of idea on what to eat - so I suggested Vietnamese cuisine for a change. When they nodded, I started to search for someplace with nice environment. From the outside, you can already tell Mekong Delights is a Vietnamese restaurant as the Vietnamese silk lanterns are lit up brightly at the entrance. The restaurant itself is very spacious as it occupies a corner lot with both air-conditioned+ alfresco sections available - both decorated with traditional Vietnamese motifs. But I sat inside as the weather lately is killing me. ◾Chicken Fillet Banh Mi RM16.80 - banh mi is made in-house resulting in fresh, crispy-on-the-outside soft-on-the-inside baguette filled with deliciously marinated chicken fillet. One of the better ones that I'd tried. ◾Fresh Shrimp & Meat Spring Rolls RM16.80 - fresh indeed and must dip into the 'soul' dipping sauce. ◾Grilled Octopus with Satay Sauce RM32.80 was nicely done and marinated with their satay sauce that could get pretty spicy, yet so nice. ◾Vietnamese Pancakes RM26.80 (2 pieces) - my first experience with this dish. The omelette pancakes were tasty filled with minced meat and onion. I just had to take the rice paper and fill with the omelette (and fillings) plus the fresh veggie + sauce.. wrap and eat. ◾Chicken Breast Pho RM18.20 - I would have never expected the chicken breast to be grilled instead of steamed (or poached) type like most chicken pho. Missing the usual basket of basil, veggie and chilly on the side where I can add flavour and spiciness. Can be improved. ◾Boiled Pork in Coconut Water with Vermicelli was surprisingly good.. tasted clean yet flavourful with the boiled pork combined well with every ingredients together with crunchy peanut and fish sauce. Service is a bit slow but they are still quite new so it'll take time to improve. Note: 10% discount applied for reservation through WhatsApp. Walk-in is not eligible.

First, we made a reservation via WhatsApp for the next day. No reply. The date came and went — still silence. So we decided to just walk in. Saw the hype, believed the “authentic Vietnamese cuisine” branding, and thought I was in for a treat. Turns out, the only authentic thing here is the disappointment. Caramelised fish taste like fish in dark soya broth. Can taste the corn flour. The fish is not cooked. The staff said, "because they don't want me to wait too long". Come on, I waited 27 minutes for the fish to be served and finally got half cooked fish with ridiculous reason. If your food failed, do not blame it on your customer. Plus, they served a big fish head on tiny little plate. All out. Nothing is right. They did replaced my fish with Ginger Chicken. Trust me, its nothing close to the menu picture. The chicken is overcooked and 'smashed'. From one look, its precooked and heat up. Taste is nothing close to those in vietnam. If you've tried the original in Vietnam, believe me - this definitely failed miserably. Here’s the kicker: they hand out “complimentary” desserts (some said in exchange for 5-star reviews) but in my case they did not request for it. Anyway, the Taufu dessert is super sweet. But nothing too much to be said on this since its handed out free. They claimed they are authentic vietnamese cuisine. Maybe yes because the lady owner is vietnamese but the entire kitchen staff a d floor staff mostly foreigners, not sure Bangladeshi or Pakistani or Nepalese tho. Including the cook. Their service is not that bad. Except that you'll need yo face the staff's 'backside' when you eat. I think its kinda rude tho. Nothing to shout out here. Slow service, long wait for food. Mediocre taste and quality. Sorry. If you’re craving real Vietnamese food, trust me.. there are far better, far more authentic places out there.

Just a stone’s throw downhill from the foodie haven of Happy Mansion lies a quietly blossoming cluster of shophouses, steadily carving out its name as yet another of PJ’s gastronomic hotspots in Section 17. What sets this spot apart isn’t just the food - it’s the kaleidoscope of gaily coloured Vietnamese lanterns, glowing cheerfully across from a dim, unassuming row of residential terraces. We arrived on a Friday night to find the place strangely subdued. The welcome was cheerfully warm though. Dining as a couple, we ordered everything to share: chicken pho, shrimp soft rolls, grilled pork and meatballs with vermicelli, Vietnamese drip coffee, and fresh pineapple juice. According to the delightfully perky manager, all the recipes hail from the lady owner’s hometown of Saigon - bursting with its trademark bouquet of fresh, aromatic herbs. The vinaigrette-based dipping sauces were no less vivid, sharp, and authentic. The overall flavours leaned warmly home-cooked - comforting, heartfelt, and unpretentious, with no illusions of fine dining. The bill came to RM105, placing it in the medium-high range - not exactly affordable, but arguably worth the indulgence.

Excited by the pop-up viral advertisement, I was all ready to dive into a bowl of "Pho" 🍜 since I couldn't make it for my Vietnam trip last week! As i searched for a parking lot, the beautiful and brightly lit Vietnamese lanterns 🏮 lead me the way, tucked in the vicinity of an old residential area.

I made a swift booking through my hp in order to receive 📲 the 10% discount while they prepare my table. (Remember that!😉) There was a long dinner table occupied by a group of seniors, another couple & myself for dinner. Practically empty. The female Myanmar staff welcomed me at the door and led me to my table. Nice table setting, cozy ambience, Clean menu, faint piped-in music. 🎶 I knew what I wanted:

  1. Australian Beef Pho 🍜 (Phò Bò) RM 22.80 2) Fresh Pork Meat Spring Rolls (Gôi cuón thit) 🌯 RM 14.80
  2. Signature Vietnamese Milk Coffee (Ice Caffe süa)🥤RM 12.50 The Phò broth was flavourful. 😋 Voila!🤌🏻Literally better than any Phò restaurants I've tried and I requested for extra broth which tasted so good for the soul, u know they're passionate in cooking. The lady in-charge was obliging enough to serve another bowl of piping hot 🔥 broth for Free!!💪🏻🤤 The Australian Beef 🍖 was tender and served in quite a Huge slice.👍🏻 The beef balls wholesome! U guys MUST order this when U visit Mekong Delights! Rice Spring rolls were sliced for easy chewing, sauce delectable, Vietnamese Milk Coffee irresistible! ✨ Total damage: RM 45.10 after the 10% discount.🥳 Moderate to steep charges!😬

Washroom was clean 🫧, friendly staff, what more can I ask. Your tummy will thank you for such a delicious, wholesome meal.👏🏻Will definitely return wt a...
