I love the ambience and the background music but most of all I love the food. Since I was hungry, I ordered 4 heavenly king (I hope I got it right as I remembered it’s 四大天王) which are local tea time desserts (Kuih). Then for my main meal I had the classic pesto with salmon and my partner had Fujidon. All their food is exactly as displayed in the menu. The presentation was so pleasing to the eyes and the taste was spectacular. I really love the scent from my pesto.
The staffs were all friendly and made us felt really welcomed. Since we ordered tea in a dainty teapot (Hua Xiang Shui Xian Oolong), we did request multiple refills and the staffs always attended with politeness and smiles.
As for dessert I wanted to eat the green tea basque cheesecake but it was not available. I scan through the menu and noticed Black Forest cake but it didn’t have a “thumbs up” sign but anyhow ordered it and gosh I think it really deserve the thumbs up sign. It says “childhood memories” but I think this Black Forest cake is way better than the ones I ate before throughout my childhood. The dark chocolate ice cream was really dark chocolate. I expected it to be just chocolate but no, it is really dark chocolate. Both me and my partner really enjoyed the cake a lot and that concluded our meal.
We were also pleased to be offered the free platinum VIP card which I think was a nice gesture from the eatery as it makes customers feel valued. I really would love to visit again if I am around PJ.
I have only one suggestion, that the salmon could have been a little bit more juicy as it was slightly dry but other than that the taste was good just the consistency could...
Read moreFoods taste normal for me. We ordered Unagi burger and Shakshuka. Portion quite okay and cafe pricing which around RM20-30 per dish. Quite crowded and expect long queue on the weekend. Limited parking. Staff services very bad, definitely need improvement to sustain. Staff does not serve water when you sit down. Although we have requested from a staff but the lady is not helping. Ends up we need to self service to get the water ourselves.
Their restaurant located at level 1 (upstairs). First thing we arrived the shop, the staff requested my name and contact number for table. Due to the restaurant is pretty small and crowded, we were waiting for their call at downstairs under the hot weather. I don’t know how long I have waited but we do seeing a few customers have left. Wonder why still not calling us, until I walk up and check, the staff told me that they called my name but nobody answer. So that they let other customers that behind us to have the table. I was quite unhappy and question her why would you request customer to fill up the contact number if you are not planning to call our cellphone? The staff said that they are very busy so no calling at that moment. My second question - shouldn’t your colleague inform us to wait inside the restaurant in such case? Ok, she apologised for this. It was an unpleasant experience. I just wanted to share my thought here, I do think you should call your customer regardless how busy you are. Busy is not an excuse. This is the least thing you could do to serve all your customers fairly and...
Read moreAfter checking the cafe’s reviews, we decided to gather with friends and explore this place. Here’s what we ordered:
• Signature Satay Ayam Rice • One Dozen Clam Olio • Shakshuka • Rose Green Tea (Hot) • Cappuccino (Hot) • Pandan Gula Melaka Cake (Highly recommend!)
The cafe’s ambiance is quite comfortable and pleasant. However, the food was rather average; it didn’t “Wow” us or excite our taste buds, nor did it make us eager to return and try other dishes. Interestingly, a friend had been here six months ago and noticed some differences in the menu. We were also disappointed to find that many items listed on the menu were not available. The portion sizes were reasonable, and the flavors were decent, but nothing particularly stood out.
In terms of the dishes, the clams in the pasta didn’t seem very fresh, and the Shakshuka’s tomato sauce had a bit of a kick to it. Regarding the Signature Satay Ayam Rice, we had expected authentic satay and peanut sauce but found that the chicken was prepared more like lemongrass chicken, not the traditional satay chicken. It also lacked the traditional peanut sauce and was instead topped with Thai-style sweet and spicy sauce along with crushed peanuts. The taste was acceptable but not quite what we had anticipated.
Furthermore, the service could be improve in terms of customer communication. Overall, the only aspect that left me satisfied was that colorful Pandan Gula Melaka Cake, which was neither overly sweet nor heavy; it was quite...
