August 2019 Cosy. Not busy in morning. The noodle is thicker than usual as it’s made themselves. So can’t get the thin consistency. Think of it as a intermediate between thin wan tan mee and Yee mee. This is not your typical wantan mee as the noodle is el-dente, the sauce is not salty or sweet, as they do not use the black sauce. The soup is chicken base (saw whole chicken in them), and the vegetable is cooked with the noodle, so it’s mixed up, not plated. Good different taste to the typical black soggy sweet and salty version. The suikow is good. At RM1.60 each, you get what you pay for. Parking can be tricky as this is at the older part of Section17 PJ. Landmark is the Shell Station, it’s behind the station area. Total damage for one large, one small, 5 suikow and one kopi is 23.20. Great value.
September 2019 Bowled over by the Suikow
October 2019 Never disappoint. Always good and priced pretty ok...
Read moreThe handmade wonton noodle is what sets this dish apart. The noodles are delightfully springy and cooked to perfection, with a distinct egg flavor. The black sauce complements the noodles perfectly, striking a balance without being overly sweet. The combination of roast pork and char siu adds savory depth to the dish, although the char siu leans slightly towards sweetness. Nonetheless, it's tender and enjoyable. The flavorful wonton filling and prawn-based dumplings are standout elements worth ordering. The soup is flavorful and satisfying, leaving me wanting more. While the coffee is average, the service is attentive. The owner, fueled by a passion for perfecting wonton noodles, continually seeks feedback, even sending her husband on tasting expeditions to improve their offerings. Although the signboard mentioning bak kut Teh is slightly misleading, the overall experience is a...
Read moreThis is not a Bak ku teh shop. This is a wantan mee shop!! Hahahah. Don’t be fool with the shop sign here.
So I was told that here they made their own wantan mee freshly everyday. So I must come here and try it myself. So obviously the shop was old and didn’t do any decor. Somemore the sign they didn’t change. So it’s hard to find this shop and mistakenly for Bak ku teh. Boss lady was very friendly and ask me what I want. The food served within 10mins and first look the noodle looked bery appealing. The taste wise was ok and the noodle was pretty bouncy. The charsiew was delicious and the roast pork was juicy and tender. Overall the wantan mee I give it a 8.1. Sure I come back...
