The last time I was here, the food was quite good for just a normal daily eastern peninsular malay meal. But, I was a bit disappointed with the nasi kerabu I had recently. The rice looked white (maybe due to lighting), the keropok is not good quality keropok as one would expect from a eastern peninsular state. The ulam is another story. This was my biggest disappointment. There was no bunga kantan (ginger flower I think, which is one of the most important ulam), daum kesum and a few more. There were however, cabbage, kacang panjang, purple cabbage which is weird..but acceptable, taugeh and some ulam which was finely shredded. The daging bakar was generous and tender at least. Read moreI don’t usually write reviews but this place certainly deserve it. My son and I had our lunch here earlier today and the food was amazing. The Nasi Dagang’s gravy was spot on and you could eat the rice just like that as it is flavorful. The food here is not as sweet as most East Coasters would make them , which was a plus point for me. To add to our experience here the workers and owners is friendly and very welcoming. Each time they deliver our order , I could see they were smiling thru the mask. The waiter is very attentive. How? Well he sees me cleaning the bowl with my spoon to slurrpp Tempoyak gravy. Then, he offer me extra gravy. Damn! This fella knows me :D
The atmosphere is very modern / minimalist, in my opinion. I come to eat, not to rate their looks xD
